openSUSE Asterisk Packages
Does anyone know who maintains the asterisk packages in the openSUSE buildservice? They are not updating Zaptel with their kernel updates and I want to get that matter corrected. I submitted to them a bug report but they seem to not care... https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=407408 ... usually within 24 hours a bugreport is assigned or some sort of comment is made.

Windows 98SE can't access Samba
Hello List, I just upgraded from openSUSE 10.3 to 11.1, had no problems with samba until the update (Samba Version should have been 3.0.?). After the update (Samba 3.2.4-5.2). Windows 98SE prompted for the password, saying it was wrong. Using smbclient id didn't have any problems. Tried around enabling/disabling password encryption on both sides, lanman auth, but no luck. So i upgraded to

OpenSUSE packages
Hello guys, Nouveau's OpenSUSE Build packages have broken dependences. It seems that now it demands xorg>=7.5 but the avaiable in opensuse 11.2 (current version) is 7.4. As there is no xorg-7.5 compiled for 11.2, I'm running vesa driver by now. I guess that a hint on download page could be useful. Cheers, --- Luiz Angelo Daros de Luca, Me. luizluca at gmail.com

rpm package for sles10
Hi, I thought about changing the RPM package the guys of Redhat created, because I wanted an Init Script for SLES10 built-in. I started documenting the steps I took. Maybe it''s useful for someone else, although in German.. but the basic steps should be useable. My little Installating puppet Howto: http://wiki.njh.eu/Konfigurationsmanagement#Installation_3 The Init Script for SLES10:

Update link for SuSE packages on networkupstools.org?
Arjen, all I don't know if there is some prohibition against it, but the packages.html link for SuSE RPMs should be changed from: http://software.opensuse.org/ To something useful that will get the site visitors to the actual rpms. For the packages that were part of the distribution: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/ or for updated packages on build service:

AWS AMI questions
Hi folks, I had a few questions in regards to the CentOS AMI: Are there instance backed versions of the AWS marketplace CentOS builds? It looks like there might have been at one point, but I'm not seeing them now, and since they're marked as being from the marketplace we're having some difficulties attaching the volumes to another system to create an instance backed version of it.

Sensible, Manageable, CentOS puppetmaster?
I''ve been going round in circles a little bit in the last few days trying to figure out how to get a 64-bit CentOS-based puppetmaster that can be managed/provisioned via puppet also - so I''d like ruby, passenger, rails etc coming from RPMs and yum. As far as I can see, the three choices are: 1) Puppetlabs prosvc repo, which specifically says it can go away at any time 2)

I am a newbie and I would like some help deciding what operating system
I would like first to introduce my self to the community. I am Steve Beyer and I am interested in learning Ruby, ROR, and how to set up a production server. I am going to use OSX for my client/developement system but I would like to get some advice on what operating system you would recommend for a production server. I want to use Mongrel to start and then move up the ladder as my
