Apart from the 'cvs', the system seemed to be running normally but trying "sync" in another terminal also wedged, though "df" worked as did "ls" of a different subdirectory in /mnt. ddb/ps showed that "cvs", "sync", "bufdaemon" and "syncer" were all blocked on "vrlock" with the same wchan (c1482800).
