Test if stored config is enabled?
Hi I''d like to be able to test if stored config is enabled and active, and if not then react (eg. notice or die). Is there any way of doing this? Hotplug issues on USB removable media.
Hi, As a part of the next stages of the time-slider project we are looking into doing actual backups onto removable media devices such as USB media. The goal is to be able to view snapshots stored on the media and merge these into the list of viewable snapshots in nautilus giving the user a broader selection of restore points. In an ideal world we would like to detect the insertion of the

7.2 kernel panic on boot
...gh the CentOS pipeline. But how am I supposed to figure out that CentOS 7.1503 < 7.2 ? I suppose I should blame myself for not being a bigger ass that CentOS didn't adopt my proposal of saying Centos 7.1.1503 vs 7.2.1511. But really, does ANYONE think the current scheme is clear? Anyone? Bueller? Am I the only ass about this problem?

Strange message in fastcgi.crash.log
Hi, I just installed Ruby 1.8.4 and Rails using the HiveLogic instructions (I had been using Locomotive, and decided to make the big leap). Everything seems to go well, I set up a simple test app and it does run using script/server (using a sqlite3 database). I am noticing that when I use Control-C to stop the server, I''m seeing this message in the fastcgi.crash.log file:

EBADF error?
Hi all, I get a (usually) reproducible error for only one of my controllers. This doesn''t happen for any of the other 10+ controllers. I didn''t see anything weird about file permissions. The "offending" line 142 is quite innocuous and triggers the error even when that portion of the controller is not even being run. . . . 141 while

kernel: Page has mapping still set - continues
Been having this problem, and posted about it before. Thinking it was a memory issue, I've replaced all memory on the server. However, the problem has continued. Server is a Proliant DL380 (8GB RAM, 2 Xeon CPU), running CentOS 3.6, all patches up-to-date. Kernel is 2.4.21-40.ELsmp (problem seems to have first manifested on kernel 2.4.21-37.0.1.ELsmp). Disk is CCISS hardware RAID-5,

Separating puppetmaster file serving and catalogs
I''m looking for a way to run more than one puppetmaster on the same server under passenger. Most of the puppet CPU load is waiting for the catalogs to compile. This also seems to be mostly what takes large amounts of RAM. I have storedconfigs on. I want to be able to move the fileserver to a different pool of puppetmaster processes. Is there an easy way to tell the client, either in
