very low speed local network browsing from win xp clients
Hi Everyone there! We have a very annoying problem since several months when browsing the local network (workgroup) from win xp clients (from win98 clients it's almost OK). The machines in the workgroup appearing very slooow (about 15-20 sec), and this value doesn't change even in the 2nd or 3rd browse. We have 1 linux (debian 2.4.21 pre 3) pc, running the samba (2.2312) server, about 15

upgrade to 4.8.3 authentication not work without specifying domain
I updated a centos 7 without changing the samba configuration. Before authentication worked even without having to specify the domain to the logon. After the update, on the other hand, it is mandatory to specify the domain. user password: not work. domain \ user password work. I have 5000 windows (xp / 7/10) clients not in domain. Client workgroups are varied. Users are not expert at all and

you need to create a .m3u file to launch the media player. In this file you should have 'protocol://url:port#/mountpoint' ex: in my 'ices.m3u' I have: http://stream.goingcreative.net:8000/houze
Once you are done point your browser to the .m3u file to launch your media player

----- Original Message ----- From: Jose Julian Buda To:

How about setting: map untrusted to domain = yes The default changed here. But it would still help if we could see the smb.conf as the big difference with 4.8 is that winbind needs to run now. This might also do something like this. Regards Christian Am 11.01.19 um 10:46 schrieb L.P.H. van Belle via samba: > I gave you the most simple option. > > And the difference is. >

I gave you the most simple option. And the difference is. myserverdomain\username works only on that server. (myserverdomain) .\username works on any server where the loginname and password are the same. There is NO other option for you that i know off. (sorry) Yes.. the other option is, setup an AD domain. Whither SYSLINUX
SYSLINUX is certainly useful. I currently start Debian from their standard boot floppy, which uses SYSLINUX. I found it very easy to edit syslinux.cfg for ide-scsi setup. Surely the future lies with bootable CDs and floppy images specifically designed for them. Maybe there should be a combined SYSLINUX / ISOLINUX package which allows you to specify Floppy Emulation or not. But if you invent a

I say put on a yellow vest and then go talk to that surgeon again. ;-) Try it, and i mean really put on a yellow vest.. then talk. And tell im very simple. Current system can be maintaint anymore due to outdated os-ses. Upgrading is obligates, the longer he waits te more it will cost him. And thats only because of inflations.. And really, first its a workgroup, now its a classic NT domain.
