Hi, Do you see any advantages of such a client? Is there a reason why you think it would exist? /Denis :-) > Den 23/05/2014 kl. 00.35 skrev Guido Budack <glaivy at yandex.com>: > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > I just mind that Icecast has its own client... > Have been surprised as I found out they there is no... > Strange... > > Whatever... > > Am 22.05.2014 23:49, schrieb Denis Smaj...

Hi, What is wrong with listening to the stream using HTTP on port 8000 on your server? And what is wrong with using VLC? /Denis :-) On 22 May 2014, at 22:47, Guido Budack <glaivy at yandex.com> wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Hi folks, > > actually and once again quite busy I'd really appreciate a quick hint > or explanation... > Somehow I dont get it... :-/ > Although I'll soon (as soon I have...

extracting audio data
Hi folks, does anybody know if there is a (fast shell-) program that extracts audio out of a video file? Lets say a MPEG4-Format... Thanks for your attention. Gee... --

Hoi folks, I don't like to post in newsletter because of several reason but sometimes it isn't evitable. I am setting up a internet-radio-show (exclusively live, including 2 video-streams) and I want to read out the audio-metadata of momentarily played tracks in realtime to compare it against a SQL-database. The aim is to fill up and/or update a table with 'most played'

How to read out metadata
Hi folks, I want to read out meta-data (audio) and compare to a record-set in a mysql database. Any suggestions where to start? The programs I know all rip meta-data and put it into a (temporary) file. Examples ffmpeg, flumotion... So do I really need to run an additional client (if ever possible) for the sole purpose of ripping the meta-data out of the temp-file and afterwards comparing with

I will ceck that option later, thanks... Actually I have another problem.... But I guess your proposition produces even more overhead than parsing a temp-file.+ Usually I'd really like to 'dock' to some C++-Interface because of speed etc but there isnt really much out there... double entries in icecast directory
...ations of the icecast-directory. I find it quite annoying that a lot of stations have double entries and/ or (probably relay) transmit under other (entry-) names. Wouldn't it be better to prevent such behavior? Is it possible to suppress this in vlc or on any other way?
