Problem with Notes on Debian Wine
For a while now I have had a problem running Notes on Debian Wine. Most of
the time it runs just fine, but whenever I try to open a mail document which
has an attachment Notes just terminates.
I have the log and the relevant bit seems to say:-

Confidence intervals of quantiles
Can anyone please tell me if there is a function to calculate confidence
intervals for the results of the quantile function.
Some of my data is normally distributed but some is also a squewed
distribution or a capped normal distribution. Some of the data sets contain
about 700 values whereas others are smaller with about 100-150 values, so I
would like to see how the confidence intervals change

[LLVMdev] llvm cmake build option ((enable-experimental-targets=R600)) question
greetings
I am new to this list.
I have recently compiled llvm-3.3 from sources. My machine has these:
--cpu -amd64
--os- clbfs 64bit -linux3 series kernel
--C/C++ compiler -modern versions gcc
My preferred build tool is cmake.
llvm is needed for MesaLib and the autotools build of llvm allows this
option:-
--enable-experimental-targets=R600

R600 was added to the list of known targets on the top-level

I wonder if this uses Wine?
http://techworld.com/opsys/news/index.cfm?NewsID=3064
The fact that they talk about Notes (the client) rather than Domino
(the server) suggests that they may be running the Notes client (as I
and many others do) under Linux, and the only way I know of to do this
is to use Wine.

rsyncing Wine fails
OK, I'm pretty certain this is actually an issue with my hard drive, but
I just want to check to make absolutely certain that nothing Wine does
could cause this problem.
I have just set about getting a regular backup of my PC (yes, I know,
consider my wrists to be well and truly slapped for taking nearly two
years to get around to this) and am trying to use rsync to copy files to

I'm trying to get the Heaven & Earth program (available at

possible problems - which I've checked and sorted out, but when I try to
run the program I get a dialog with "System Error

well to fix what MS breaks.

Yes. Service Packs are essentially upgrades. For example, SP3 broke a
lot of things for NT4.
====From: "Mike Stewart" <mike@powys-training.co.uk>
have you created the new user accounts in Unix and also in smbpasswd ?
====From: joe.fletcher@btconnect.com
Looks like your samba server has lost membership of
the NT domain. May be something simple like an
expired password. Check the NT server event logs for
more detail on the failure. You may have to re-add the
samba server to the domain.
On a related note I've always found Alpha/Tru64 wi...

Re: [linux-lvm] lvm deadlock with 2.4.x kernel?
I think I have this one solved, I hope.
I think what Andreas and I are running into are a few different
assertions. One being the LVM lvm_do_pv_flush caused assertion which is
related directly to invalidate_buffers() being called which then triggers
refile_buffer() on a journaled buffer, which appears clean in all other
ways according to the checks in refile_buffer().

Central file server advice please
Hi List
I have a Gygabyte GA-7N400 PRO2 with a 2.6 mHz Athlon cpu. I want to set up a

Setting xlim in lattice plots
I am having difficulty setting different xlim values in the lattice
histogram plot function.
An example is shown below. I think I need to convert the limits data.frame
to a list of paired values but don't know how. Any help would be
appreciated.

mat <- as.data.frame(matrix(abs(c(rnorm(100),
10*rnorm(100),20*rnorm(100),30*rnorm(100))),ncol=4))
