If(cond) statement
Why will this simple statement not work? I think I am following the documentation for if(cond) statements, and I have tried wrapping the cons.expr and alt.expr in {}, I get the same error. There is no example in the help file, and this is not covered in the Introduction to R, SimpleR or other tutorials I have looked into. mxx=max(cpx_list$nMV); mxy=max(trend_list$nMV); if (mxx>mxy) mxy=mxx

Documentation General Comments
I realize the R developers are probably overwhelmed and have little time for this, but the documentation really needs some serious reorganizaton. A good through description of basic variable types would help a lot, e.g. the difference between lists, arrays, matrices and frames. And, it appears there is some object-orientation to R, but it is not complete. I can't, for instance find a

Installation Setup for NT

RE: [SOLUTION]query_name_response error
Hi all, I don't make it a point to answer my own posts, but I thought this information would be useful: In researching the problem our client was having below, I found that there were two NT servers on the same subnet as my Unix server running Samba. Both these NT servers were "arguing" over who was the master browser for that network segment. Once the NT SysAdmin corrected the

Use of recordPlot
I am trying to save plots that I create using calls to windows() folowed by multiple calls to plot to place several plots on a page. I want to store the plots as variables to be able to recall them later. The documentation states: "Recorded plot histories are of class "SavedPlots". They have a print method, and a subset method. As the individual plots are of class
