Win2k/XP doesn't execute logon.bat while logging in to Samba PDC
Hi all!
I'm going mad about getting my shares mapped to my win2k and winXP machines from my Samba PDC Version 3.0.2 on Debian.
Win-machines doesn't seem to execute logon.bat at all, except when i log on as root. I've set the ownership and chmod 0775 all logon.bat files to eatch user on my network.
Am i just blind or are there something obvious/very wrong with my config?

client with W2K browse through server disc
I have W2K 5.00.2195 and RH 7.1 with 2.4.10 kernel. Running Samba 2.2.3a
simply by ./configure, make, make install...
>From MS Word, I cannot browse through network disc. From explorer, worpad,
notepad... It runs.
Word say "You have not permission...." If I make share disc on W98 and browse
from w2k, It runs fine.
I try make W2K work as workgroup and connect to public share.

Browsable/searchable mailing list archives
Hi,
Is there an easily browsable and searchable archive for cfe-dev?
I often find myself wanting to link to a particular email, and it’s a very time consuming process with a pipermail interface.
I’ve noticed that llvm-dev is reposted to a google group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/llvm-dev <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/llvm-dev>)
which can be super convenient for that

Problem handling excel 2010 files
Hi everyone,
I've recently migrated a file server/domain controller from a Windows 2012 Server to CentOS 7.2 with Samba 4.2.13 running on active directory role mode , everything is working fine except when handling Excel files, when you try to open a file it locks in read-only mode and there is no users accessing the file , anyway you can edit normally if you click on "Notify"

Browsable Flag
Hello,
the parameter "browsable (browseable)" is a Boolean which allows a share
to be displayed (or not) in list of machine resources.
But if I set the parameter to "no" - how exactly does it hide the share?
I could not find a clue about the way of achieving that.
Best wishes
Tom

Samba 4.1.7 + CentOS 6.5 - Home's directory mounting in W7 + Roaming of Profils
Hello all,
I progress slowly in my installation of Samba; but I'm confronted to two problems:
1) Is it possible to configure Samba (4.1.7) directly from GNU/Linux (CentOS 6.5) for automatically mount the user's home directory to "H:" when he connects to the domain ?
2) In addition, after that, I'll try to set up profiles' roaming.

[Samba 4.0.9 | Win 7 x64 | Office 2007 x86 | Folder Redirection | Local Cache] : Word-documents, Corrupt
Hello,
First of all I would like to thank the Samba Project Group for this state
of the art software. I would like to thank every body for helping each
other out.
Please ignore my poor English writing. It is not my native language.
Although: I do the best I can.
We use Samba for a while now. We started with version 4.0.6 and updated
each time. Now we are at version 4.0.9 and we are planning to

After reIP, Samba hosts not browsable.
Hey folks,
We recently reIP'ed our main office LAN. Ever since
this was done, none of our Samba hosts are browsable via
Network Neighborhood. While they are still availible via
Start -> Run -> \\servername, it's an annoying inconvenience.
Stats:
* PDC and BDC are NT domain controllers
* Samba hosts are running several versions of Samba,
from the later 2.0.* releases,

Problems with Samba and W2K
Dear Group,
I have been working very hard for the last 3 days trying to get my W2K
To join a Samba Domain. I have tried it seems like everything to do it
and it won't go. I really think its something simple but I don't know
how to fix it.
The error I get is this one from W2k when trying to join the samba
domain.

Memory leak in 3.0.22?
Hi,
I have just switched from FreeBSD 4.11 using 3.0.21b to NetBSD 3.0.1
using 3.0.22. With the same configuration, and the same clients, I am
now seeing what appears to be some rather large memory leakage [ I am
not sure if this is the fault of Samba or NetBSD ]. Eventually the
process will run out of memory (machine only has 256MB of RAM) and the
Windows clients (2000, SP4 and all the

copy of a share without path
Matthias,
Sorry I should have wrote more details.
I agree with your message and I understand that template12 is not meant to
be a share.
What I tried to say is:
when I have this configuration:
[template12]
writable = yes
browsable = yes
valid users = alex
[alex]
path = /home/alex
copy = template12
I can see this error in /var/log/samba/log/smbd

Problem browsing shares "element not found"
Good afternoon,
I have a new Samba414 install on clean Ubuntu server 12.04. All working
except I cannot browse into shares. I get "not accessible" and then
"element not found". Using "net use" works fine - I can "browse" a share
that has been attached to a drive letter but I cannot browse the UNC
path. That is to say
NET USE P: \\MYDOMAIN\public
works,
