Simple streamer help
Hi --
I am trying to add limited streaming capability to an existing mp3 setup
I'm running for internal use at my house.
I'm using the "mp3sb" package with a php-based web front-end to pipe music
to my stereo; now I want to extend that so I can use the same web interface
to stream to computers in the house. I don't want to run shout or another
streaming front-end

VPN and SAMBA
Hello!
I've got a problem with DNS,VPN and SAMBA.
I do have 3 Linux servers on distinct subnets. (192.168.1.1 ,192.168.2.1
and 192.168.3.1). I have done a VPN between the 3 subnets and I could do
a ping from 192.168.1.1 to the others without problems.
Each sever has 2 network cards. One of them is connected to ADSL.

...chives, I think that icecast may
not be the solution I'm looking for, because I'm hoping to somehow play the
mp3s on demand from the web browser, not via a separate mp3-playing
program. My goal is to have the user select a song or a playlist from my
existing web interface, and have the brownser "render" the songs (I suppose
that may require a browser plug-in of some sort?). Can this be done?
Sorry to be dense about all this; if it's not obvious already, I know
nothing about putting audio on the Internet.
Thanks,
John

best text editor for Linux?
Hi all,
I know this question has been asked in the past, but I am wondering if
anyone running R on Linux has any guidance as to a text editor that works
well with R. At the present time I am running R on Windows and using
TINN-R. For a number of reasons I want to switch to Linux, but can't find
much in the way of a text editor in sync with R. Any experiences,
recommendations would be
