Windows Media Player
..."Unable to download an appropriate decompressor."
I'm currently running Wine v20010824 and version 6.01.05.0217 of Media
Player. I have v2.4.4 of Linux and v4.1.0 of XFree86. Wine was configured
with "--enable-opengl --with-x". Any idea on how to get around this?

Samba 2.2.x & Solaris fcntl lock problem
Hi all,
We've had a couple of incidents where Samba 2.2.5 on Solaris 8 has stopped accepting new connections...there are many smbd processes sitting there blocked doing a: fcntl(7, F_SETLKW64, 0xFFBED5E0) (sleeping...)
We have around 400 users connecting on a daily basis.
This message from Samba 2.2.3 days seems to suggest that there was a problem on Solaris with "fcntl locks with

Control Panel
Anybody know how to invoke control panel applets?
What I really want to do is make Wine use my default Date format that I used
in Windows, but it's reverted to the goddawful American usage (with two
digit years, no less).
wine timedate.cpl (or wine C:/windows/system/timedate.cpl)
fails with an error 193 and nothing in the log
