Default broswer for OS X (PR#2725)
Full_Name: James Howison Version: 1.6.2 OS: OS X (fink install) Submission from: (NULL) (66.67.80.30) The default browser for the html help system is not set correctly for OS X. This makes the html help work great on OS X: > options(browser = "open") > help.start() "open" is an OS X launcher app that inspects a file and launches it with the appropriate application

Cross Broswer Fire Event
Is there a standard way of programmatically firing an event on an element? I think this code works in IE but not FF: myElement.fireEvent(''onclick''); I really only care about IE and FF, but anything else is a bonus. I didn''t see anything in prototype/scriptaculous for this, but I might have missed it. Thanks. Joe Athman

Installing winetools
When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com? I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks. ...ver I tell them to open winamp and enter in http://rcscanner.dyndns.org:8000 <p>What I would like is to have a link I can give them in a email they can just click on that would work like the shoutcast listen.pls. because right now clicking http://rcscanner.dyndns.org:8000 will just open a broswer window and do nothing else because it doesn't know what the server is and what program to play the stream with. I run the icecast server in windows and according to the DOCs you can't run the webserver in windows so putting a listen.pls on the icecast webserver won't work. <p>I...

Anyone done a "File Browser"? Like a free StrongSpace?
Hey all, Does anyone know of an existing project that acts as a file broswer for files/directories on the server. I need to implement something for my students to be able to access their unix home drives on our server via the web. It doesn''t sound that hard to do the actual file listing and accessing in ruby. Authenticating the users could be tricky (PAM?)....

Credentials issue
...redentials... Or the website didn't recognize my login (and I'm still in login page) or for example I'm logged in linkedin but I'm not able to see which visit my profile cause it ask me my credentials and when I enter I'm going again to login page. For MVA I solved updating my broswer but for other website nothing. I resetted the factory settings in Chome, disable extensions (AdBlock Plus and Privacy Fix mainly), clear my cache but without results and now the problem is really frustating. Can you help me in troubleshooting it? Fabrizio -- "The intuitive mind is a sacred...

SAMBA requesting to be a master browser....
...p tcpdump scan the outgoing packets to determine when our system is jumping into the master browser mode? this way I can try to get a jump and monitor the packets myself on our end Another piece of information just came in, there was a power outage at the time SAMBA started requesting to be master broswer, Our system is on a UPS, it never went down, the NT WINS server was on a UPS as well and is said to have not gone down. However, MANY PC's throughout the building DID go down and rebooted themselves. Could this be of any relevance? Not sure if power was an issue the first time. [global]...

request.xhr? vs. respond_to
Searched around this forum, but didn''t find an answer for this question. Can you help this newbie understand any overlap and/or difference between request.xhr? and respond_to? If request.xhr? is true, should I expect it wants.js below? respond_to do |wants| wants.html { redirect_to(person_list_url) } wants.js wants.xml { render :xml => @person.to_xml(:include

C7, just updated firefox, bugs
...;t know why I have three. > Looking at this now .. here is how it appears to work: there is a wrapper .. /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox That is one process .. and it starts the rest ========================================== then there is a process called: -childID 1 That seems to be the main broswer process .. all the things besides the actual TABS. =========================================== Then each tab you open spawns a seperate process .. so the first TAB (that is your home page) spawns a process with '-childID 2' ============================================ Other tabs seem to...

error log
I'm using R version 1.6.2 under Windows 2000 Prof. I've recently had a problem with R terminating with an error message that tells me that an error log has been generated. However, I've been unable to find this error log. Could someone tell me where it should have been written to and/or what the name of the file should be? Thanks, Dave

inconsistent browsing info for samba server
...rns with 10 names including "..__MSBROWSE__." This might be due to our NT administrator playing around with the Master Browser settings. I'm not clear on what he did exactly. He's studying for his MCSE so he not around for me to ask. I looked around on the website and noticed BROSWER-config.txt recommends using only one protocol since NetBIOS can run over both IPX and IP. Interestingly enough, the PDC NT1 runs only NetBUI and TCP/IP. NT2 runs NetBUI, TCP/IP and IPX. I was hoping there would be a hard and fast correlation here but it isn't the case. Some NT machines that...

Domain master browser for multiple domains?
Hi, As I understand it, for cross-subnet browsing to work, we need a domain master for each workgroup/domain? This presents a problem since many of our workgroups/domains are just a collection of Windows 95 machines and so do not have a domain controller to be a domain master browser. Can we make Samba be a domain master browser for multiple domains/work- groups (the list of domains/workgroups

So there would be no need to copy them to an other folder. ;-) In smb.conf have something like [webdevelop] comment = Web root drive...

Authentication Scheme for Samba3.0beta
...using my Windows domain account? I want to stay with our Acitve Directory PDC authenticating me. Is there a way to get my Kerberos ticket at login for my Samba box? Being able to easily connect to windows machines, from a shell, using the Kerberos ticket is very nice! Can I do that through a broswer such as Konqueror? My current setup still prompts me for authentication to each share. I have enjoyed working with Samba over the past few weeks (I'm very new at this!). Any info. or pointers are very appreciated. TIA, Tim --
