TV-Out on a GeForce 2MX supported?
Hello,
I have here a GeForce 2MX (NV10) with a Brooktree BT869 chip for the
TV-Out.
Is the TV-Out on this card supported by Nouveau? I read on the feature
matrix something that the TV-Out is only supported for some Chrontel
chips, furthermore
xrandr -q
shows me only the DVI connection (in fact it's VGA, not DVI), but not
the S-Video connection. If...

On and off, I've been googling to find if there's something I can tell it,
or the kernel on boot. Currently, I have, in /etc/modprobe.d/bttv:

You can try nvtv (http://sourceforge.net/projects/nv-tv-out/). It bypasses
X and modesetting and programs the Brooktree and CRTC directly. I've
no idea if it still work with modern X and/or nouveau. :-)

Install issue for Band in a Box 11
...but the installer quits right away with a message box saying 'Unable to start installer. Error "File not found".' The output in the terminal is:
err:alsa:ALSA_CheckSetVolume Could not find 'PCM Playback Volume' element
fixme:mixer:ALSA_MixerInit No master control found on Brooktree Bt878, disabling mixer
I should mention the 11 is not listed in AppDB but 9, 10 and several newer versions are so I figure that 11 should work at least with some effort.
I found some forums that mentioned that some installers point to another one in a subfolder and to just run the other installer...

Apps slow down after several minutes
A problem I have with most applications I've tried is after several minutes, they will slow down to a crawl, becoming unusable. The program I'm mainly interested in is Painkiller (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/painkiller/index.html). It runs beautifully at first, and I can usually get through a level, but after that, it slows down or even stops. Is this an issue in Wine or could this

See note #4 -- nv0x-nv2x (nv17-nv19 excluded) need an external,
third-party manufactured TV encoder. Only some Chrontel branded chips
are currently supported.
