Request: Increasing MAX_NUM_DLLS in Rdynload.c
...en when loading and unloading across learner types we can still hit
the MAX_NUM_DLLS error, meaning we'll have to break them down further (or
maybe we can be clever with gcDLLs()?). I'm CC'ing Lars Kotthoff and Bernd
Bischl to make sure I am representing the issue well.

to 100 for a very particular reason than I apologize, but if it is possible

Functionality bug (possibly) in openssh on AIX 4.3 (fwd)
Has anyone else running AIX tried this patch? I'm looking for feedback
if it should be applied before we release 2.9p1.

Hence my current (potential dead-end) path of trying to let users
access via their username , which then lets me look up their
authorized_keys. Of course, now I run into the "user doesn't exist"
issue..

Creating users "on - the - fly"
I guess I didn't want to litter the users table either - it just seems
"wrong" to be actually adding things to the host when it is really so
transient. It feels like it should be LDAP-ish. Just ask the server
for the keys and do a one-off authentication. But I've seen even LDAP
creates the user directories.
I see that 2.6 kernels can have some 4B users, which should last me a

If that would be considered the right place for it, I can throw out a

Why is the diag function so slow (for extraction)?
Looks like the c(x)[...] bit used to be as.matrix(x)[...]. Not sure
why the change was made many years ago, but this was before names were
handled explicitly. It would definitely be better to not force the
duplicate, at least in the case where we are sure c() and [ would not
dispatch.
Best,

saying Proportion of variance describes the amount of variance with respect
to the number of components the user chooses to show? So if I only choose
one I will explain 100% of the variance? I think showing 'Total Proportion

auth*.c
Folks,
During testing, we found a couple of issues with openssh3.0.2p1:
1. In userauth_finish() in auth2.c (as well as in do_authloop in auth1.c),
the foll. check:
if (authctxt->failures++ > AUTH_FAIL_MAX)
is never satisfied and thus packet_disconnect() never gets called. I
suspect the code just drops out of the dispatch_run function list instead.
This should be an == instead of >.

But then you should use Factor Analysis which has that concept of ?noise? (unlike PCA).

3.0.2p1 under IRIX (coredumps)
Hello,
I am unable to build a working OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 for IRIX 6.5 using either
1. gcc 2.95.3 + binutils 2.11.2
2. SGI MIPSpro cc, CC=cc, LD=/usr/bin/ld, CFLAGS='-mips3 -n32'
Under both setups:
- zlib seems to build fine
- OpenSSL seems to build fine and tests out okay
- OpenSSH builds, and then:
openssh-3.0.2p1 % ./ssh -v myhost

Local Management via su or ssh ?
ssh could give us:
1/ Centrally managed keys and access
2/ No more user accounts in wheel groups lying around various systems
3/ Standard tracking with logging to a server via syslogd.
4/ Passwords managed centrally via pass phrases instead of passwords on
every machine.
As far as not using root is concerned, all for it, but I am just trying to
get some sort of control over root now. sudo etc

The common case is that the remainder terms have a roughly _constant_, small-ish variance and are interpreted as noise. Of course the magnitude of the noise is important information.
