Request for code review: the brendan() action
This came up as an RFE during the conference (I believe it''s been logged as "4012008: brendan() action needed for DTrace Toolkit".) As everyone here is aware, DTrace is not quite as user friendly as it could be. For the uninitiated, it can be confusing to run a DTrace script and not see the expected output. Brendan Gregg has addressed this in the DTrace Toolkit[1] by

TCP Snoop & wrapper shell script posted
Hi , I have posted DTrace script to snoop tcp traffic and also provided a wrapper script for it to filter out unwanted traffic. http://blogs.sun.com/roller/comments/raviswam/Weblog/tcp_snoop_using_dtrace Please let me know if you have any feedback/comments on this. Thanks Ravi

Interest in E1 channel banks?
Our company manufactures an E1 channel bank that is approved for use in Australia (it should also be compatible with Euro standards). It is modular and available in 10, 20 or 30 analog port configurations. Signal monitoring and configuration is via Ethernet. These units are manufactured in low quantities for specific telco requirements. However if there was enough interest, we would be able to

slow FLAC__file_decoder_seek_absolute()...
Hi, I checked the archives, but I didn't find anything regarding this problem. FLAC__file_decoder_seek_absolute takes an incredibly long time to seek. What can I do about this? How do I fix it? Here's how I'm calling the function: if (argc > 2) { secs = atoi(argv[2]); seek_point = (FLAC__uint64) secs * sample_rate; printf("seeking to %d:%02d\n", secs/60,

Loop question
Hi everyone, I am trying to accomplish a small task that is giving me quite a headache. I would like to automatically generate a series of matrices and give them successive names. Here is what I thought at first: t1<-matrix(0, nrow=250, ncol=1) for(i in 1:10){ t1[i]<-rnorm(250) } What I intended was that the loop would create 10 different matrices with a single column of 250

Opus in WebM
Yes, it's basically an intrinsic aspect of the mathematics. If you seek into the middle of an Opus stream, that's about how long it takes before the audio converges to be correct. LatencyTop
I see Intel has released a new tool. Oh, it requires some patches to the kernel to record latency times. Good thing people don''t mind patching their kernels, eh? So who can write the equivalent latencytop.d the fastest? ;-) http://www.latencytop.org/ -- cburgess at qnx.com

Asterisk 13 chan_sip trunk appending @string to dialled number
Yes indeed. Do you have the dialplan, eg from /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf? Something is getting this OUT_3_SUFFIX variable and including it in a Dial to 172.22.4.12. Asterisk 13 chan_sip trunk appending @string to dialled number
David, I should also note; 246 is my extension, it has IP 172.22.3.238. 172.22.4.8 is the PBX, and 172.22.4.12 is the 2800 gateway. The trunk is called ?testing? at the moment. The route that selects this trunk uses a 9 prefix. This system is in semi-production, so there might be fluff in the log from other active calls. Does ActiveRecord have support for "Boolean" columns?
Hey all -- I''ve been using enumerable char(1)''s with ''y'' and ''n'' values for my Boolean columns in Rails, but it strikes me there should be a better way. How do you setup columns that represent true/false-ness in your schemas on Rails? Wondering what kind of standard approaches there are other than me writing something like class MyEntity

slow FLAC__file_decoder_seek_absolute()...
sorry about the delay... first, yes you are calling it correctly. if your encoded files have max_framesize == 0, then that should mean that either 1) you were using the command-line flac to encode to stdout; or 2) you are using libFLAC directly. if 2, you can replicate the functionality that is in src/flac/encode.c:metadata_callback() to write back statistics and seek table to the metadata in

Asterisk 13 chan_sip trunk appending @string to dialled number
Hello, So, I found this line under macro-dialout-trunk, in extensions_additional.conf (FreePBX, so it controls the conf files mostly); exten => s,n,Dial(${OUT_${DIAL_TRUNK}}/${OUTNUM}${OUT_${DIAL_TRUNK}_SUFFIX},${TRUNK_RING_TIMER},${DIAL_TRUNK_OPTIONS}) If I grep for OUT_3_SUFFIX in all files in /etc/asterisk I get nothing.. Here's a paste of a few things out of the two files that I

Floating simulation error
Hi all, I am running a simulation and a curious error keeps coming up that stops the whole process. The error is a subscript out of bounds error, and it seems to happen at different points (floating around) throughout the looping simulation. Say, for example, it crashes on sample 1 - iteration 200. I can force it to start again on iteration 202 with all of the same settings, and it is

Calling objects in a loop

sh DTrace provider available
As noted on my blog and at http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/dtrace/shells/ I''ve made available a DTrace provider for the Bourne shell. Before anyone starts yelling at me for not starting with another shell, read the blog I made explaining why we started with shell (link on the community page referenced above). For /bin/sh, I''ve put up something akin to a chapter in
