arp who-has packets not seen in Dom0 even by tcpdump
...;ve tested both hvmloader with knoppix liveCD and vanilla paravit_ops linux-2.24 kernel but it changes nothing regarding this issue) The temporary work-around was to add static arp entry at the router, but i really need to get arp-who has working! I run "arping 10.5.5.1 -i breeze" and "tcpdump -nn -i breeze port \! 22 -e" shows: 16:31:03.725312 00:16:76:c5:a3:14 > ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, ethertype ARP (0x0806), length 42: arp who-has 10.5.5.1 tell 10.5.5.254 16:31:04.729177 00:16:76:c5:a3:14 > ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, ether...

Ruby on Rails Impossible Windows
Hello, Ruby on Rails still, as I think, very poor with MS Windows. I make the comparison as a PHP user. In some minutes, I have got Apache running PHP easily. In Ruby On Rails, there is no such breeze. I expect in the future, Ruby on Rails is going to offer something like php4apache.dll to make life easier. As I think, There are three things made PHP popular: 1st, The ease of installation 2nd, The complete, detailed and perfect organized documentation 3rd, The variety of free tutorials and res...

Asterisk on Mac OS X
...ed, it would write the phone number to a text file for importing into MySQL or FileMaker. Is what I am trying to accomplish within the realm of what Asterisk can do on the Mac platform... or any platform... and if so, how difficult of an install is it? I have read varying accounts from it being a breeze to being frustrating. I have already been told I can do this via both caller id and via number entry by touch tone, my question is, are there currently any users who are doing the above on a Mac or should I only consider Linux? Also is there a GUI frontend to Asterisk for the Mac version? T...

...e been trying to install CentOS 5.4 on a Intel SR1530SHS, Intel S3200SH mainboard.. It has a 3 x 1TB sata hotswap drives with LSI software raid onboard. I had configured the LSI to have Sata0 and Sata1 with raid 1 and the third drive as a hotspare drive. Format the harddisk and installation was a breeze. The server rebooted into a blank screen and the cursor just keep blinking. Please advise. Thanks wL

R 64-bit and Revolution
Dear users, The company where I work is considering getting a license for Revolution Enterprise - Windows 64-bit. I'll appreciate for those familiar with the product if can share your experiences with it? In particular, how does it compare to the "free" version of R 64-bit? Thanks in advance. Regards, Lars. [LLVMdev] CMake sample project?
Hi, I built LLVM on Windows XP through cmake and MinGW make. That was a breeze! Now, I wanted to start a project. It seems like I need Makefile.rules and Makefile.config to start a new project (from http://llvm.org/docs/Projects.html). And llvm/projects/sample uses autoconf (or ./configure). Is there cmake based sample project available? I could not find any from official r...

IPSEC vs OpenVPN
...case of roadwarriors, a much better) solution. Having already generated all of the required X.509 certificates, it took me less than 1/2 hr to replace my IPSEC testbed with an OpenVPN one using the new tls-server and tls-client facility. That facility makes setting up a roadwarrior configuration a breeze. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net PGP Public Key \ https://lists.shorewall.net/teastep.pgp.key

AEC learning behaviour
Hello, We've integrated the speex echo canceller into PulseAudio, and coupled with the AGC/denoiser, it works reasonably well and has been a breeze to plug in, so thank you! One thing we're seeing, though, is that the canceller seems to take some time (a few seconds) to "learn", so initially the echo is clearly audible and it slowly fades out. This sometimes occurs in the middle of a call as well (the echo becomes loud again an...

[OT] DNSmasq - a simple solution for DNS and DHCP
Hi, I would like to make Sambaadmins aware of the simple and powerfull program dnsmasq. It makes setting up a caching dnsserver + dhcp-server that maps local machines to the local domain a breeze, something that is missing in the samba howto collection (http://www.bibsyst.no/samba/docs/man/DNSDHCP.html#id2981727). I've been running it for two months now, so I felt it was time to recomend it to others. URL: http://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/doc.html Disclaimer: I am not affiliated wi...
