completed printjobs stay in queue after "upgrade" 3.0.20rc2 -> 3.0.20
...nix-printqueue). When I installed 3.0.20rc2, everything back to normal. But since the upgrade this weekend to 3.0.20, the same thing happens again: no jobs were removed from the samba printerqueue's. Removing the .tdb files clears the queue, but doesn't solve the problem... Any hints? brecht A sample printer definition from smb.conf. We use lprng to spool the jobs to our lprng printserver. Sensitivy / Specificity and nulls
Maybe you want to check out the prevalence package (http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/prevalence/index.html), and its development version on GitHub (https://github.com/brechtdv/prevalence/). When you have two tests, and neither can be considered to be a 'gold standard' (ie, SE & SP = 100%), Bayesian latent class approaches can help you to estimate true prevalence, sensitivity and specificity. completed printjobs stay in queue
...cancel a job in the samba queue (a job that was printed before), all jobs disappear out of the queue. The next jobs stays in it again. I have a samba log of these commands. If you would like that, I send it to you. If you would like a screenshot of a windows queue, I could provide it either. brecht > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Brecht Samyn wrote: > > | A few weeks ago, I upgraded Samba 3.0.1x to 3.0.14a > | . Clear file locks when connection dies
...when one of those pc's is restarted while having a lock, that file stays locked. We already tried changing this behavior by setting the following parameters without effect: - keepalive - SO_KEEPALIVE - deadtime How can we enable a timeout on these locks / connections? Thanks in advance, Brecht

suggestion - Password replication
Hi, I would find it very useful if puppet were able to replicate passwords for specified users from a master PC (the puppetmaster would do me fine, though I suspect this may not suit everyone). That would make changing passwords on my small Linux network a little easier. cheers John Dubery

Mysql store problems
I successfully switched to using mysql and all the problems relating to sqllite and stored configs, locking issues, etc. went away. However, it seems as if something new has suddenly popped up in my puppetmaster logs and the clients are failing to compile their configurations: info: Found proxy in /etc/puppet/manifests/site.pp err: Puppet::Parser::Interpreter failed with error Mysql::Error:

File Descriptors
I installed Squid on CentOS 4.4 and currently it seems to run fine even under the relatively heavy load of 6mbps and hundreds of users. I was told I should increase the file descriptor limit which I beleive is 1024 now. Any easy way to do that? Matt

Live linux booting
I have a need to have a live Linux (Debian or sysrescued ) to boot off a hard-drive so that the hard-drive ends up umounted after boot. (for running partimage ). I've gone down the memdisk iso route and read about the issues there - I've seen a way to do this by mounting over nfs (messy) - but I want to do this without the network. I'm thinking that there should be a way to loop

can i access module "files" w/o using client-server?
Hi, I''m new to puppet and trying to get started using it just in local mode. My basic question is: how can i reference a static file within the module (eg in the module''s files/ subdirectory, as described in http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ModuleOrganisation). I suppose i could try using a full.absolute path to the file, but that seems to completely defeat the purpose

Network interfaces (and deleting them)
I''m in a bit of a pickle and I can''t work out a safe way to do something. I currently have a define called ip that I use to define network interfaces. The built in method didn''t seem to work, so I designed this to write out the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg- ethX file. However, I started thinking about what if I decide to define an eth0:0 for some purpose, and

Hi, I''m in the process of evaluating puppet and cfengine for a rollout on a mix of in-house servers and managed customer servers. I''ve always been a pro-cfengine man, and it''s already running on a small setup of 5 machines. But even though I have pretty clear idea of how I should proceed building the system, I''m intimidated by the vast amount of

call fortran in R
Hello, I used a mac G5, R.2.1.1, and G77 3.4.4 and I would like to use and call a fortran subroutine. The trouble is that it seems I am not able to correctly load the compiled code. Here is what I have done: In the terminal this how I compiled my fortran code: R CMD SHLIB ~/Desktop/Fortan_kmeans/kmeans3.f There is the wrapper I have paste inside de kmeans3.f file: c
