Audio breakup problems
I've been having audio breakup problems (on my end) in my Asterisk tests. I'm not sure of the most likely source of this quality problem. 99% of my LD calls are calling into a tele-conference service called freeconference.com for group meetings. Its a free phone conference system that works quite well with pstn phones. I'...

Event log 4768 audit failure
...(Audit Failure) A Kerberos authentication ticket (TGT) was requested. Account Information: Account Name: root Supplied Realm Name: TEST.LOCAL User ID: NULL SID Service Information: Service Name: krbtgt/TEST.LOCAL Service ID: NULL SID There is no user as root in my DC and there is no functionality breakup. It is getting correct user name .But, by default first kerberos ticket requested by root. whenever samba is restarted or communicating with my system. Audit failure logs are dumped. I think it might be a regression issue from samba while fixing badlock. could anyone help regarding this issue?

DTrace hooks for CPU caps
Hello DTracers, The CPU caps project (http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/rm/rctls/cpu-caps/) introduces kernel "wait queues" where threads may be placed to enforce caps. I would like to make this visible through DTrace and to add two new probes to the sched provider with the following semantics: cpucaps-sleep Probe that fires immediately before the current thread is placed on a

Traffic Priority by IP address..
...re and we didn''t have any problems with it) and am thinking about changing that to Shorewall as well.. Would there be any feature of Shorewall that would make it possible to prioritise ALL traffic from the Voice gateway IP address to and from the provider IP address and so minimise the breakup when somone else does something? or is this a more complicated thing to do? Thanks..

Sound quality - commercial vs. Asterisk
...o got a Vonage line, using a Linksys ATA. None of the devices I've connected to my Asterisk server have been able to maintain the same consistent sound quality over a long distance as the Vonage line. Don't get me wrong, the Grandstreams are actually not too bad, but there is still some breakups that can be annoying. Meanwhile the Vonage ATA maintains an almost flawless connection, all the time. I'm assuming (perhaps wrongly?) that the Linksys ATA that Vonage uses is still using SIP with some standardized codec. If that assumption is correct, then how the heck to they manage to get...

Problem with x-ten lite
Dear Group, At the moment I use SJPhone as my soft phone with Asterisk. I prefer the look and feel of the x-ten lite. However, when ever I use my x-ten lite I get a lot of breakup in my communication. E.g. I will play some hold music, and every 5-6 seconds I drop some packets. I don't have the same issue with SJPhone. I'm sure this is a configuration issues, but I can work out where? Can someone point me in the right directions? Thanks and Regards...

Asterisk 1.00 Call quality problem
...between us and the VoIP provider. Two handsets, one BudgetTone 102 and a Cisco 7940G running the 7.2 SIP firmware. Both these phones are using ULAW to the server, and we have plenty of G729 licenses on the server. Now the BudgetTone does not have any problems at all. The Cisco however has severe breakup on the incoming audio from the VoIP provider. The caller can hear me fine. In some cases the call is okay for 10seconds or so then slowly gets worse, but most of the time I just cant make out what they are saying. The link we are running this on is a 1500/256 ADSL line, we are not running much els...

Icecast2 Server Load tests
...bandwidths in MBPS? 3. Or was this an offline simulation with no real listeners just testing CPU load? I am using Time Warner cable internet at 10/0.8 MBPS bandwidth and am wondering how this translates to server load streaming mp3's at 128kbps. I.e., how many listeneers can I connect without breakup. Right now I am thinking switching to Verizon FIOS which runs at 30/5 MBPS TIA, Chet -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... ORC JIT Weekly #26 -- Orc library break-up, remote TargetProcessControl, and the beginnings of a runtime.
Hi All, I'm back again after a couple of weeks hiatus, and I have some good news for anyone interested in cross-process JITing with OrcV2: The remote TargetProcessControl and Orc library breakup patch has landed in 1d0676b54c4 [1]. Thanks very much to Dave Blaikie and Stefan Graenitz for all their feedback on the review! As described in my last email, this commit breaks the OrcJIT library into three pieces: - OrcJIT retains the bulk of the code. - OrcTargetProcess contains code only neede...

[PATCH 0/4] ocfs2: bugfix for hard readonly mount
Hi, All, These four patches are all related to ocfs2 on hard readonly mount. patch 1 fix oops when umount ocfs2 on hard readonly device. Because ocfs2_dismount_volume() will call ocfs2_cluster_hangup() and then call ocfs2_stack_driver_put(), will hit BUG_ON(active_stack == NULL). patch 2 fix oops when do ls or cat in ocfs2 on hard readonly device. Because ocfs2_open_lock() will call

[LLVMdev] Parallel Loop Metadata
...d only communicate "this instruction does not alias with any other similarly annotated instruction from any other iteration in this loop". Quickly thinking, this might work and might not loose the parallelism info too easily. Anyways, the info still has to be connected to a loop to avoid breakup in inlining, multi-level loops, etc. Summarizing, the new metadata would be: llvm.loop: Just to mark a loop (points to a unique id metadata). llvm.mem.parallel_loop_access: The above mentioned new semantics, connected to the llvm.loop's id metadata. What do others think? Nadav? -- Pekka

IAX problem through intermediate asterisk box
...gup() exten => _1XXX,1,Verbose(1|Extension 1xxx) exten => _1XXX,n,Dial(IAX2/asterisk_B/${EXTEN}) exten => _1XXX,n,Hangup() Is this the proper way to set such a configuration up? Is there a better way to call from A through B to C that would work better? Anyone else experience total audio breakup after a while with a similar arrangement? Why does it work initially for up to about 3 minutes, then completely fall apart? Thanks, Andrew

Speex over 56.6K modem
...ou should have a decent jitter buffer for received packets so that if packet timing is not entirely smooth, enough audio is buffered to avoid dropouts. In my program using Speex, I've been able to have a dialup modem user send audio and video to two people at the same time and not have any breakups in the audio. (It was *very* low bitrate video.) :) Hope this helps, Tom Tay YueWeng <yueweng@yahoo.com> wrote: > > Dear all, > > Have anybody uses speex codec over 56.6K bit/s line > that hear clearly in both direction before? ${HANGUPCAUSE} is not printed when call ends or is interrupted
...-oorzaak = ${HANGUPCAUSE}) I absolutely want to know how the call ended... but I don't seem to capture the info I want. So 2 questions : 1) if indeed the call ended abruptly, do you see something abnormal ? 2) How can I debug the way a call ended ? Be it in a normal way, or be it by a sudden breakup. Thank you very much, Jonas. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
