SMB/NMBD configuration troubles.
...I have followed every tech tip I could find and I am still
unable to complete my SMB installation. Specifically, I fail
Test 4 and Tests 9 and 10. I believe the problem has
something to do with the NMBD configuration. Below are the
parameters of our system.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Permission Denied when "all" bits not set to r/w
Hello,
I'm having trouble with permissions on Samba 3.0.21. It almost seems
that the "all" bits are the only ones that Samba is obeying. For
instance, I created this file remotely over a samba share:

Nagios asterisk monitoring
Dear list,
I am trying to configure the nagios plugin called check_sip. I just read the
README file included with the plugin. I follow the readme steps to configure
the plugin, without success. In the nagios web interface I can see (No
output!) In the status information column. If I run the chech_sip plugin
from a linux console, I get

from= in ssh key
Fairly new to puppet here and trying to figure out a couple of issues
with distributing ssh keys. First one is how can I distribute a
public key with the from= field at the beginning. What I currently
have working is
ssh_authorized_key { "brandon":
user => "brandon",
ensure => "present",
type => "ssh-rsa",
key => "AAAAB3NzaC1yc2E......
}
which adds
ssh-rsa AAAAB3NzaC1yc2E......
to my authorized_keys just fine. But how do I prepend that with
from="1.1.1.1"
?...

Secondly I have an older copy and I can get it to boot to the tftp32 server for a server I am building. It errors out when it gets to the nic card and then exists to the shell. Any ideas?
Thanks

two questions for R beginner
...using something besides R for data manipulation - how
clumsy is that!?
I find the actual programming syntax itself is the easiest part to
master. It is certainly more flexible - but without a particularly
sufficient increase in complexity - than trying to write script in
SPSS and STATA.

Connecting without smbpasswd file
Hi;
We've recently upgraded from Samba 1.7 to Samba 2.2.8 and we're using Samba
to allow our users to connect to their Unix home directories from their
PC's. Under 1.7 users were able to connect by mapping a drive from windows
explorer and entering their unix username and password. Now, when we do
this we get a "Incorrect password or Unknown username" error message.

Log user log-offs
...d can log log-ons using root preexec on a
share all users mount, however I do not know of a way to log log-offs.
We need this data for record keeping purposes. We don't use roaming
profiles, so using root postexec is not an option as shares disconnect
when not in use.
Thanks for any help,
