Link to "The use of multirate filter banks for coding" by T. Sporer, K. Brandenburg and B. Edler
Hello, In the "Documentos" section SanJaaC Electronics' website you can now find a zipped version of the paper "The use of multirate filter banks for coding of high quality digital audio" by T. Sporer, K. Brandenburg and B. Edler. I hope this helps to relieve the shortcoming with the -404 error message when trying to access it form other sites. Please let me know if I am

ocfs2 and device-mapper
Hello all, are there any issues concerning ocfs2 (v 1.2.3) and device-mapper-multipath-0.4.5-12.0.RHEL4? I've build a 4 node cluster with two ocfs2 mounts on /dev/dm-0 and /dev/dm-1. Under heavy load the nodes dies after about two minutes reproducably ;-(( Once I've loaded the ocfs2 modules it seems to me that both modules (device-mapper-multipath related as well as ocfs related) are

sftp over 2 hosts?
Hi list, I tried sftp and it works perfect via a direct connection between 2 hosts. Our situation is that we have to go from our intranet through a firewall gateway to the internet and then to a third server. With "normal" ssh this works via: "ssh -t hosta ssh hostb". It seems to me that this doesn't work with sftp ;-((. Would it be complicate to implement? Thanks Stephan

openssh kills the stty values?
Hi all, I found that on some HP-UX 11 machines running openssh-2.3.0p1 the default values for intr in stty don't work. The problem is that stty shows the correct values but they don' work and I cannot det the values to others. Once I connect via telnet or rlogin I can use the intr-sequence. Any ideas? Antw: Re: openssh kills the stty values?
Hi, thanks for your answer. I can reproduce your error in my HP-UX system and solved it ;-)). I built socalled software-depots for distributing the openssh-package and put the start command in the postinstall-script. The shell of this postinstall script has the bahavior that intr ^C won't work properly. So I did your trick with "/sbin/init.d/sshd stop/start" from a shell where ^C

Disk usage for small files in ext3 in CentOS 5
Hello, I noticed something unusual today. If I "du" a small file (couple of bytes) in CentOS 5, it tells me the file is using 8kb, while I was expecting 4kb which is the block size I'm using. I tried this on several CentOS 5 machines, both x86_64 and i386: $ echo test >test.txt $ ls -l test.txt -rw-rw-r-- 1 filbranden filbranden 5 Mar 11 17:24 test.txt $ du -h test.txt 8.0K

Hardening CentOS by removing "hacker" tools
Hi, My boss asked me to harden a CentOS box by removing "hacker" tools, such as nmap, tcpdump, nc (netcat), telnet, etc. I would like to know which list of packages would you remove from a base install. I would appreciate if someone could point me to a "standard" way of doing this. I know there are procedures for hardening a machine (I remember reading about Bastille Linux)

Small correction in CentOSPlus (AdditionalResources/Repositories/CentOSPlus)
Hi, Small correction there. Example 4 of section 2 (how to use XFS with CentOSPlus kernel) says you should use this configuration line in [centosplus] section of yum: includepkgs=kernel* xfs* dmapi* However, the XFS module's package name is kmod-xfs*, so I believe it should actually be: includepkgs=kernel* kmod-xfs* xfs* dmapi* I did this on a system of mine, and in the first case it did

openssh 2.2.0p1 and finger
Hi all, just I installed OpenSSH 2.2.0p1 on a HPUX-11 machine and it works. But when I connected to the machine and give "finger -R"-command then in the "Where"-column I see the hostname of the openssh-server instead of the hostname where I came from. Does anybody have an idea? Thanks Stephan -- LDS Brandenburg Dr. Stephan Hendl fon: +49-(0)331-39 471 fax:

HP-UX and trusted system
Hi, is it possible to have only _one_ openssh binary distribution (it means compiled by myself) wich recongnizes itself wether there is an trusted system or not? With the commerfial stuff I have to build to variants dependeing on the security mode - but this is quite not friendly for admins. Antw: problem with installing openssh on HP/UX
Hi, > acro-284> uname -a > HP-UX niit1 A.09.01 A 9000/730 2015353714 two-user license I don't know what "niit1" stand for. We use openssh on several HP 9000/800 series (HP-UX 10.20, 11.00) compiled with gcc-2.95.2 and did not run into problems with the latest portable openssh version and the pam-patch provides earlier in this list. Antw: Ctrl-C problem on HP-UX
Hi Ryan, I run into the same problem with my HP-UX 11 as well as HP-UX 10.20 boxes. Therefore I decided not to start the sshd from the swagent in the postinstall script. I start the daemon via the lan console by hand. I know in large environments it is not a perfect solution but the only one which works these days ;-(( regards Stephan -- LDS Brandenburg Dr. Stephan Hendl fon: +49-(0)331-39 471

two problems with scp/ssh 2.5.1p2
Hi all, I get some problems using scp (ssh1) with authentication via the authetication agent mechanism on HP-UX 11. I have to distribute some files step by step from one machine to several others. 1. After approximately 10 scp processes the conncetion to the authetication agent breaks and the socket doesn't work for this session anymore. That means I have to log off and log on once again,

Antw: openssh compile errors on hpux 11.00
Hi Kyle, I've compiled 2.9p2 on HP-UX 11.00 with gcc-3.0.0 als well as 2.95.2 and openssl-0.9.6 and got _no_ problems. I took the openssh-package from the porting center. Some month ago I got some errors with the commercial c-compiler from HP but going back to gcc solve them. Hope that helps Stephan -- LDS Brandenburg Dr. Stephan Hendl fon: +49-(0)331-39 471 fax: +49-(0)331-27548 1187

tunnel connection like a service with cygwin or other products?
Hi all, I try to implement a secure ODBC connection via ssh tunnel from a win-pc to a linux server. I am looking for a kind of service under nt that builds a secure tunnel connection from the pc to the server at time of login of the user at the desktop and going into the background after that. That means the conncetion is always open until the user shuts down the pc. It should run completely in
