[OT] IP Phone with Braille console for blind reseptionist
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi list,
I'm currently working on a project where the customer is employing a
blind person as receptionist: she has an Alcatel phone with extensions
and a Braille console connected via serial port. I've searched for
something similar for IP telephony, but found nothing. Has someone used
such equipment? Else I'm thinking of using a PC with receptionist
software and Braille console attached, but does that exist?
Thanks,

Vorbis streems, old and new
Hi all:
Well, after making the change to make use of the CVS trees and switching to
ices2 (as opposed to the libshout example streamer), the icecast server at
bumpy.braille.uwo.ca:9000 is back up. I've put my old 22khz mono files
(encoded with beta4) back up on test.ogg. In addition, we've implemented a
vorbis subset of Kirk Reiser's egoplay MP3 stream. You can now hear all
the vorbis encoded songs in his collection at

Possible bug with multiport?
...t ignors the ports. The
multiport invokation shows up in an iptables -t nat -L -v however.
The packet and byte counts never get incremented either from zero.
Any pointers would sure be helpful, having to include a line for every
port check seems wasteful.

need help/ideas please, oh and answers
> Um, why wouldn't you just use apache for this?
Exactaly, I would recommend the mod_mp3 project for something like that.
http://media.tangent.org/
They are doing almost exactaly what sound like you are looking for. There
is also the project 'ampache' that takes this one step further and adds a
MySQL database backend to a PHP front.

multiple ices streams and misc other stuff?
...ultiple stream stuff.
I thank you very much for the kind offer. I will happily play with it
if you are looking for real world tests. If you rather not though, I
don't mind waiting a few days for cvs updating.
Once again thank you for your hard work.

ices 0.1.0 released
...o ices dies with an error
about libshout not being able to reconnect to the server. I am not
sure who is guilty here ices or icecast. Unfortunately it only
happens rarely, twice so far, I'll let you folks know more if I can
get a better handle on it.

...be done is either change the #include <lame.h> in reencode.c to
#include <lame/lame.h> or make a symlink in /usr/include to point to
the lame.h in the lame subdirectory.
Anyway, thanx to anyone that takes the time to answer my above
questions.

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.11a (BUG)
Hello
I'm new to the list. I went through recent archives and didn't find any
mention of this, sorry if this has already been discussed.
When listening to a stream (http://bumpy.braille.uwo.ca:9000/test.ogg)
winamp crashed after a few minutes.
When i tried going back in and went back to the stream it worked for a few
minutes again and crashed.
The times are different (8:27 and 6:20, and 6:21), so it doesn't seem to be
related to that, but every time its crashed was at the begi...

Winamp decoder plugin user-agent ident
Hi:
Have been testing the latest winamp plugins on my icecast2 stream
(http://bumpy.braille.uwo.ca:9000/test.ogg <plug plug>) and I noticed that
in the field where the player/browser is listed in the log entries I see
Mozilla for the winamp plugin. Isn't this ummmm. wrong?
Geoff.

Directory listing disappeared
Hi:
Last week, I upgraded an icecast2 server and enabled the directory code.
The primary streams that run on it showed up nicely. As some may recall, I
had issues with libshout compiling (seems the sources got hosed somehow, a
fresh checkout fixed everything after all else failed), and I just compiled
the latest ices2. I noticed, with some surprise, that the config file
hadn't changed in
