Shutdown Problem
Hi
I'm hoping someone can help.
I'm running fc5 with nut 2.0.3. I just recently acquired 2 Gamatronic
SmartCompact ups for my Linux boxes. As you can see from the info below,
everything looks ok. When I unplug the ups from the wall, after a while, the
computer shutdowns very rudely. That it is just turns off. No scrolling down
of processes shutting down It does not seem shutdown

Request for comments/testing: upsc_list branch
I finally got some time to implement a pair of options to upsc for
listing all configured UPSes on a given upsd:
http://boxster.ghz.cc/projects/nut/changeset?new=branches%2Fupsc_list%2Fclients%2Fupsc.c%40859&old=trunk%2Fclients%2Fupsc.c%40821

I think this should work with the new functions for parsing IPv6
addresses, but I haven't...

about nut revision 1289
Hi Carlos,
How do you do? :)
Can you please clarify the change introduced by the subj
(http://boxster.ghz.cc/projects/nut/changeset/1289)? I need to know in
particular why did you add these intervals between sending a command
and reading the response. They are the root of weird problems with
megatec_usb. Can I safely remove READ_PACE and usleep-s?
I tried to search the archives and found the relat...

Misreported values with newhidups
Okay, now that I've got NUT up and running with the newhidups driver, I can
give it a quick shakedown.
Most of the values look good, but are few are off. Here's what I get:

battery.charge.low: 10
battery.charge.warning: 50

infinite loop in clients/upsclient.c connect
...me code for listing available UPSes, and when I tried
connecting to a machine that didn't have upsd running, upsc went into
an infinite loop on OS X (IPv6 enabled).
The error code returned by connect is EINVAL, which apparently isn't
one of the errors documented in connect(2) here.

http://boxster.ghz.cc/projects/nut/browser/trunk/clients/upsclient.c?rev=731#L540
I'm not sure about the logic inside the switch statement in general,
actually. If the error is EAFNOSUPPORT, I would think we would need
more than just to break out of the switc...

Tripplite Smart 2200 and Battery Voltage
For my Smart 2200, a charged battery string is anywhere between 25.6 and
26.8 volts. I'm seeing nut report 13.0 volts, which seems suspicious. Even
if the UPS were reporting half of the actual battery voltage to keep
protocol compatibility with models having a 12V battery system, the value
of exactly 13.0 seems unlikely.

Some automake help?
Could someone please check and see what I am doing wrong with automake
in branches/AsciiDoc?
http://boxster.ghz.cc/projects/nut/browser/branches/AsciiDoc/docs/Makefile.am?rev=1917
The problem is that 'make html' never recurses into docs/website.
I have listed 'website' in the 'SUBDIRS' section of docs/Makefile.am,
and 'docs/website/Makefile' is listed in the output sec...

NOVA AVR 625 - support?
...ee that "NOVA AVR 600 Serial"

> are capable to deal with "NOVA AVR 625"
It looks like the suggested driver for that model is usbhid-ups:
http://boxster.ghz.cc/projects/nut/browser/tags/v2.4.1/data/driver.list#L161
The web page seems to be slightly behind.
I'll let Arnaud comment as to whether the SHUT drivers will work with
that model, but the comments seem to indicate that one of them should
work.

New automake targets and Debian packages
...es with the NUT
trunk, and I noticed a bit of a problem with the automake changes.
For the uninitiated, the 'debian/rules' file is essentially a Makefile
that is used to build the package and split things into the
sub-packages. If you look at line 85 of this copy of the rules file:
http://boxster.ghz.cc/projects/nut/browser/trunk/packaging/debian/rules#L85
you will notice that the old "install-*" targets are used to
distribute the files between the packages.
Basically, whatever is in debian/nut-usb after running through "rules"
will end up in the nut-usb-<version>...

The most up-to-date place to track revisions is here:
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/nut
Personally, I think wsvn is not as transparent as Trac, so I will be
synchronizing my local Trac setup from time to time: (yes, I will try
and automate this at some point)

If you are a developer, you can access the repository via:
svn+ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/nut/trunk (note the extra '/svn/' before 'nut')
To avoid typing in your password all the time, you will want to add
your SSH public key(s) here:

Nut 2.2.0 also broke Belkin 1200 Universal UPS' as well.

# /lib/nut/usbhid-ups -a belkin
Network UPS Tools: 0.28 USB communication driver 0.28 - core 0.30 (2.2.0-)
No matching HID UPS found
Hmm best to stick with 2.0.4.

Long shutdown time - customise runtime for bcmxcp
Hi,
I am using a powerware 5115 UPS under a software RAID linux box, with
VMWare hosts running on top. A shutdown typically takes around 4
minutes with the VMs running, which consumes about a half of the
battery's real runtime (~8 minutes).
How can I configure NUT so that after only 1 minute on battery a
shutdown begins? I would like 3 minutes breathing room for the
shutdown.
Thanks,

Try RX as signal name (not RD).

Command summary for Tripplite 500
Tim,
thanks! Does this UPS have a USB port as well?
The key thing for TrippLite UPSes is this command:
Command to UPS Response from UPS Function
:00FFCR 00005XXXXCR unknown
The second and third bytes are the protocol number. I think I may have
misinterpreted something in the formatting -- what are the hex values
of the bytes in this command/response pair?
I don't have time to
