Procmail patch for dovecot delivery
...ses you can add the VERBOSE=on variable. A sample
configuration for dovecot usage with documentation is discussed below.
Some other delivery agents (e.g. cyrus) might need other options.
Keep in mind that the environment expansions with $ in the
DELIVER_PROGRAM must be escaped with a backslash. BOXNAME and RECIPIENT
are 2 new variables which can be used.
Status of the patch is that it "works for me". There is no other
guarantee ...
So I hope you like the patch. Maybe someone can make a short review of the
code changes.
Feel free for any feedback.
Ciao,
Gerhard

"|dirname| in dfs path \boxname\dirname is not a dfs root" ?
Hi,
It's looking to me like the error in the title is the main thing preventing
logging into a share via ADS/winbind &c. I see an old note here for someone
seeing the same in his error logs:
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2007-May/053388.html
Ah - this explains a lot. The default for the "msdfs root"
parameter changed between 3.0.24 from True to False.

Alternatively, if you often have variables like this, you might consider
creating a new object type that extends factor and that includes the
operations that you need.
Something like:
### Start Sample Code ###
checklist <- function(X, boxnames)
{
attr(X, "boxnames") <- boxnames
class(X) <- c("checklist","factor")
return(X)
}
contains <- function(X, name)

if(is.character(name) )
name <- pmatch( name, attr(X,"boxnames" ) )

smbclient and long share names
Hi,
Have been trying to find info on how to tune samba/smbclient to show
shares with long names. E.g a share named "Production Documents" on a WIN
2000 server is not shown in 'browsing' list (smbclient -L boxname) whereas
"Cetal Backup" is.
Any help would be appreciated!

Newbie struggling with "factors"
I am processing some survey results, and my data are
being read in as "factors". I don't know how to
process these things in any way.
To start with, several of the survey questions are
mulit-choice check boxes on the original (web-based)
survey, as in "check all that apply".
These are encoded as numbers. For example, if the
survey has a question:

System-wide multiuser Wine installation
Hi.
I was wondering if it is possible to do a Wine installation and installation of Windows applications where the applications are accessible to all users (or better yet, users in a certain group like "win32" or "wine")? I read in the most recent edition (March 18, 2005) of the Wine Weekly News that the global registry functionality had been removed. Is this necessary to have

Profile directories with the wrong name on the Windows Box
...s annoying. Nothing showed in oslo:/var/log/samba/smbd.log.helsinki, so I'm not sure if it's a 3.5.8-related behaviour, or a Win7SP1-related one ?
Is there a way to revert to the former behaviour (assuming I've made no missteps) of c:\users\username.domain instead of c:\users\username.boxname) ?
Below you'll find part of my smb.conf file

deliver rewrites envelop-sender
Hello,
we are currently using sendmail, procmail, uwimap and qpopper. We are
planing to replace uwimap and qpopper with dovecot. Which seems to be a
very good idea :-)
But: Sendmail and Procmail will not be replaced.
Now I've realized that deliver rewrites existing "From <....> ..."
header lines to ">From <...> ..." and adds it's own "From
