rsync: connection unexpectedly closed; reverse lookups?
Hi. My goal is to use rsync to syncronize box1 and box2. On box2, I have a tapedrive which I write the data I syncronize from box1 every night. On box1, my /etc/rsyncd.conf looks like this: root@box1# cat /etc/rsyncd.conf max connections = 1 syslog facility = local6 [tmp] path = /tmp read only = yes comment = expo...

How to improve/resolve the Flushing xxx bytes to node would block?
Hi, Guus I encounter the below log messages that after tinc run for a while, it seems box1 begin to buffer traffic to abc, and box1 is behind a firewall to connect abc from firewall’s inside to outside, and abc is on the public internet. Normally the major traffic is actually from abc to box(download direction), but not sure how this happens, and could you suggest something we can avoid...

scp local/remote external calls
...more appropriate message... something a bit more obvious then the standard "Permission denied" message from ssh. So... lets say this ssh wrapper is called "ssh" and it's in my $HOME/bin dir (which is first on my PATH). I have (for the sake of this discussion) 2 boxes... box1 and box2. The ssh wrapper script exists ONLY on box2. If I do an scp FROM box1 (which does NOT have this wrapper script) to box2 AND my credentials have expired on box2, scp will fail with a message that my credentials have expired (which comes from my wrapper script)... which obviously means...

selinux policy remnant according to /bin/ls on CentOS 6.0 box
...As far as I can tell, here are the remaining packages that have something to do with it: # rpm -qa | grep -iE 'sel|pol' checkpolicy-2.0.22-1.el6.x86_64 libselinux-2.0.94-2.el6.x86_64 libsepol-2.0.41-3.el6.x86_64 polkit-0.96-2.el6_0.1.x86_64 # Both boxen have those packages. However: 1) box1 still has files in /selinux whereas box2's /selinux is empty; 2) ls -l on box1 shows a '.' at the end of file/directory, which means a SELinux security context applies, according to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_11_FAQ#Why_does_ls_show_a_dot_.28..29_or_a_plus_.28.2B.29_at_the_en...

I have two Asterisk boxes, Box1 has TDM22B and Box2 has a TDM11B. From Box1 I can pick up Zap/1 and dial 300 causing Zap/1 on Box2 to ring. From Box2 I can pick up Zap/1 and dial 100 causing Zap/1 on Box1 to ring. PSTN calls come into Box1. They ring thru to Box2 on Zap/1 via IAX, then if no answer they ring Zap/1 on Box1. W...

Need more meetme users -- hitting some limit
...m trying to determine the capacity of my host running Asterisk 11.8.1 on CentOS 6.5. The host is an Intel E3-1240v3 with 8GB RAM, an SSD, and gigabit Ethernet. The primary application will be bridging groups of users using meetme(). I'm using 2 boxes -- 1 to initiate calls using call files (box1), and 1 behaving a bit more like a production box -- bridging calls (box2). The call file on box1 originates a call to box2 and then plays a 2 hour WAV file. The dialplan on box2 drops the call into a meetme, creating the room name from the last 2 digits of the current call count -- distributi...
