streaming: some idea's
...uropean standard ;-)) is the existing of a
meta-stream.
On DVB, the meta-stream (among others)
- Contain information on what audio-stream(s) is/are couples to what
video-stream.
- And what 'CA' (Conditional Access) system is used for a certain stream.
- But, it also adds the notion of 'bouquets': groups of programs that are
bundled together, and that can span multiple transponders on a satellite
or on multiple satellites (at the same satellite-position or a different).
Perhaps, it would be good idea to see if a meta-stream is possible/desirable
for vorbis, and what we can put in it....

samba and NIS?
Hi,
I have a few questions. My goal is to run
NIS and samba so I have a central point of passwd control
and just one place to change passwords. I will eventually
have 5 samba servers so this is quite important to me as
I don't want to have to change passwords and setup passwords
on 5 servers when changing or adding new users.
Can this be done? So that if a user changes his password

sysadmin and basic Xen knowledge.
Feedback, bouquets and brickbats (in moderation :) appreciated.

If you read the beginning of RFC 6716, you learn that Opus never encodes
any frequencies that are higher than 20 kHz. So at some medium or high
bitrates, anything above 20 kHz is filtered out, not because of the
bitrate but

Time capsule and "bad smb"
Hello,
I'm having trouble connecting to an Apple Time Capsule's smb shares.
The connection doesn't work, and with "dmesg" I see the following
message, repeated every time I try:
[26937.531511] CIFS VFS: RFC1001 size 39 bigger than SMB for Mid=4
[26937.531580] Bad SMB: : dump of 48 bytes of data at 0xffff880052832380
