PXE EFI booting - 2 issues!
...T > menu.c32" with "TIMEOUT 0" to prevent it from auto-launching again and > hiding the error. okay, thanks for the tips. If I move the files I'm trying to load into the root folder for testing, and try without the menu... At the 'boot:' prompt if I enter "/bootmgfw.efi", I get the reply : "Loading /bootmgfw.efi... failed: No such file or directory" but on the tftpd side of things, and in packet capture, I can see that it requested, in this order: /bootmgfw.efi.c32, img, bss, bin, bs, 0 -> 'not found', and then finally /bootmgfw.efi...

PXE EFI booting - 2 issues!
...uss first. issue #2: i've tried alsorts... i have a fully working pxe / windows pe boot on 'bios' mode and wanted to replicate over to EFI. how do i add Windows EFI boot to (vesa)menu ? copying the boot file(s) to the tftp server and adding a menu entry like 'KERNEL /Boot//EFI/x64/bootmgfw.efi' the client just seems to go back to the menu after downloading the file. I even tried things like an entry for 'PXE 10.10.1.1::Boot/EFI/x64/bootmgfw.efi' pointing at a windows server 2012 with WDS configured, to no avail. I admit I have searched and searched already hopefully I d...

Problem with 90MB Initrd
...he load-and-hang many of them do with syslinux.efi as discussed here?? E.g., maybe they implement this protocol a little better...? -Alan<<< It very well might. I remember your "load-and-hang"; that could be becauseHP just does not need to test their UDP4 Binding Services because bootmgfw.efi does not use that, then they might very well have a non-reported FW bug there. But how to know if it is a problem in our side or their side? who knows.. but also "who cares" is we can avoidusing EFI UDP4 Binding Services... That's why I think we should redesign the conf strategy...

PXE booting WinPE with UEFI architecture
...4 could be adapted to use HTTP. With the UEFI architecture, memdisk seem to be out of the equation now, so methods 3 and 4 are out. Although I'd really appreciate if the functionnality memdisk provided could be ported somehow to the UEFI architecture. For option 1, Windows' PXE loader is bootmgfw.efi. The configuration looks like this: LABEL WinPE50 MENU LABEL Windows Boot Manager KERNEL \boot\x64\bootmgfw.efi I then get: Loading \boot\x64\bootmgfw.efi... failed: Bad file number How can I load a EFI file? Lastly for method 2, with the following configuration: LABEL WinPE50 MENU LAB...

I can manually update the entry, but when the program start it run a windows program named wpeutil which set the value back. When booting via memdisk, the parameter is set to CDROM, but when booting via Microsoft bootmgfw.efi and also with wimboot the parameter is set to 'Ramdisk' and I'm not able to start the revovery procedure. Currently we use a CD which boot the Microsoft bootmgfw.efi to boot. I've not tried to boot syslinux.efi via CD, because I have also problems to load syslinux.efi via PXE...

PXE booting WinPE with UEFI architecture
Anyone have luck with pxechn32 and bootmgfw.efi? I'm getting the "Unable to retrieve first package" issue as reported by others. Really, any advice for UEFI booting into a winpe environment off of pxelinux 6.03 would be beneficial. EFI booting over network - can't then load anything
...line out of their configuration for these two scenario's . We're trying to do two things via EFI64 network boot & SYSLINUX: * boot a CentOS 6.5 installation vmlinuz/initrd.img combination - machines just reboot after downloading the initrd.img. * boot windows server 2012 r2 PE menu via bootmgfw.efi - unsure of the commands to 'chain' load another .efi file. Everything I've tried has failed. Both of these work if I switch to GRUB2 - but we want to use SYSLINUX with EFI as we already use it with the older BIOS PXE booting. I also tried to load hdt as a test - that seemed to ha...

Syslinux 6.03 UEFI PXE Boot
Hi, I installed Syslinux 6.03 on Windows 2008 R2 for PXE Boot. Legacy Boot works fine. In UEFI PXE boot ( files taken from /efi64, syslinux.efi renamed to bootmgfw.efi ) the System boots up into menu correctly. In "default" I configured to either boot efishell.64 or bootx64.efi (Windows PE). But I get following error if I select on to boot: Invalid boot signature 0x00, bailing out... Or Invalid boot signature 0x0b, bailing out... Regar...
