question about string to boor?
Hello!
So I am handling this problem with some arrays grp1-grp7, I want to write a
loop to avoid tedious work, but I don't know how to transform string to
boor?
For example I used
i=1
paste("grp",i, sep="")
I only got "grp1" instead of grp1, which can't be manipulate using mean() or
other function.
I am not sure if I make myself clear...
THANKS!!!!
Nellie

To whomever moderates this list:
OK, Who do I report this childish boor to ??
He needs to grow up, He is as bad as 'Steve' got to be at the end, so
what are you going to do about him.

splineDesign and not-a-knot conditions
Hi,
I would like to fit an (interpolating) spline to data where the
derivatives at the endpoints of the interval are nonzero, thus the
natural spline endpoint-specification does not make sense. Books (de
Boor, etc) suggest that in this case I use not-a-knot splines.
I know what not-a-knot splines are (so if I were solving for the
coefficients directly I knew how to do this), but I don't know how to
sensibly enforce this restriction on the B-spline basis. I would
appreciate any advice, references o...

the meaning of the B-spline coefficients
...there
are 10 knots in this case. Do bs(time, df = 13)4 through
bs(time, df = 13)13 indicate the slope or intercept of the
original curve (of "f0") within the 10 knot spans? What's the
meaning of bs(time, df = 13)1 - 3 then?
I'm reading "B(asic)-Spline Basics" by Carl de Boor, but
really don't understand those formula of splines. I'd really
appreciate it if someone could help me with this.
Many thanks!

Install latest R version from apt on Lenny
...had the site and page and I had added the relevant backport but it didn't work and i keep installing R 2.7 . Don't know why; i probably missed something.

May be you should add in your mail the file :
/etc/apt/sources.list (I suppose there might be a typo, as IT addresses are long and booring, and AFAIK, correcting a typo one made is **very** difficult).
FYI binary installs are (/were) meant to make users life(s) easier, and are (/should be) therefore easier and faster: on the long term, if you go beyond "it does not work" (which makes very mysterious to find what is mis...

I just did a quick internet search, 'buhorojo' might just be 'Steve' by

...; or both. In fact, I can just use an incorrect 'PASSWORD' with
no name, and I can still access the share.
Obviously, something is configured wrong on the WinXP machine, but I am
not sure what. Perhaps someone might have a suggestion.
Thanks!

Help with thread Centos 6.4 won't reboot on install
Newbie here. Need help with a thread that has about 25 posts. No
replies in a few days. The thread is in software support for centos 6
and the subject of the thread is Centos 6.4 won't reboot on install.
Have had limited success in getting a login screen but once I logout, I
can't get back in again. It was mentioned in the thread that the problem
is likely in Network Configuration. I
