Howto determine flags like readonly and readwrite.
Hello,
I'm writing a fuse module (fuse-wokspace-union) which makes local (USB) and remote (FTP, SMB, and SSH and maybe IPX(netware)) resources available in
a map
in the homedirectory of the user.

The fusemodule creates a bridge between the actual mountpoints (which are managed by autofs, this does the actual mounting) and the special

Question about programming libsmbclient.so
Hello,
I'm writing a FUSE fs which cooperates with the automounter to offer the
user easy and effective access
to all kinds of resources, like USB and CDrom devices, and SMB shares.
see:
http://linux.bononline.nl/projects/mount.md5key.new/
Now I want to make my FUSE fs aware a share and server are still available.
How can I do that? Where can I find documentation about the smbclient API?

Autofs and Fedora 11
Hi!
I'm having trouble accessing Samba shares via autofs.
Let me begin by saying that I can access the samba shares
directly using smbclient without any trouble. For example:
smbclient //Matsa/Pisi
works fine.
I first started out by copying a config line from an older
system (redhat 7) that has in its auto.misc:
(all on one line, of course)

Samba 3.0 and username map.
Hello,
I'm using samba 2.2.8 for aprox 40 computers and about 200 users.
(no one has a computer for his own, so I'm using domainlogons and
roamingprofiles)
To map my (windows) users with unix accounts, I use a large (!)
username map file. Apart from being large, I'm not happy with the way
usernames can be added or modified.
My question is:
do I have to use the option username

Good idea, but no reply: what to do.
Hello,
since some time I've created a construction which:
- automatically detects all the smb hosts and their shares (with nbtscan and
smbclient)
- creates a directory in the homemap of the users logged in which represents
the "windows networkneighbourhoud".
- when entering a share, it is automatically mounted (with autofs and cifs
and or smbfs)
It works very good, and now
