lm() gives different results to lm.ridge() and SPSS
...at least.
Interestingly, the "wrong" number I get from lm.ridge()$coef agrees with the value from SPSS to 5dp, which is an interesting coincidence if these numbers have no particular external meaning in lm.ridge().
Kind regards,
Nick

Plotting matrix rows with lattice graphics?
...The following will plot one row in one box:
> xyplot(m[1,] ~ seq(1:5))
but this gives all rows in the same box:
> xyplot(m ~ seq(1:5))
Since there are no factors, how can I set conditioning variable to get
what I want, or is there a better way to do this?
Thanks in advance

lm() gives different results to lm.ridge() and SPSS
Hallo,
I hope I am posting to the right place. I was advised to try this list by Ben Bolker (https://twitter.com/bolkerb/status/859909918446497795). I also posted this question to StackOverflow (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/43771269/lm-gives-different-results-from-lm-ridgelambda-0). I am a relative newcomer to R, but I wrote my first program in 1975 and have been paid to program in about

help with the use of mtext to create main title over multiple plots
I'm trying to use mtext to create a main title over multiple plots. Below is
a simple self-contained example and my sessionInfo (I should note I've also
tried this with R-2.8.1 with the same results). When I execute the code
chunk below, I get the plots, but no title. I've tried this using the screen
driver, pdf, and postscript. I've used different sizes of paper. I suspect I

specify GARCH model, using garchFit()
Hello,
I’ve fitted a Garch(2,1) model with function 'garchFit()' from the package
'fGarch':
> m1 <- garchFit(formula = ~garch(2,1),data = X,trace = F)
* See 'summary(m1)' OUTPUT BELOW *
PROBLEM: My alpha1 term is not significant and I would like to make a NEW
model, say m2, that does not contain alpha1, but I am not sure how to
specify this with the garchFit()
