periodic problems with dovecot-1.0rc19 (No authentication sockets found)
Hi, Timo! On the new server running 1.0rc19 people stop being able to login every once in a while. DNF update
...ands for Dandified yum. Since DNF is a tech preview > in Fedora 18 the Python module names can not be 'yum.*' as > that would clash with yum itself. In any single version of Centos there is only one YUM. Having multiple and incompatible versions of Yum in the same software release is bonkers. Forget Dandies and be simply pragmatic. Everyone knows Yum but DNF (something to do with DNS ?) or Dandies or another load of weird ideas from Fedora people desperate to emulate M$ ? DNF = Dandified yum ? and not a single 'Y' in the name. Nein danke. Nee takk. Alstublieft niet voor mij,...

Xorg goes bonkers, bazillion NVIDIA errors...
on one of my Centos 5.4 boxes, a machine that's around 5 years old and has always run Centos and X, and has had the same Nvidia card in it for its entire life, I'm suddenly getting these lines in the xorg log file: (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (2, 6, 0x8000, 0x00000000, 0x000003c0) (EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to allocate clip rectangle (EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting *** (EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to

Catching a list of variables with a Controller
...R ''/filter/(\w/)*'' ). I currently use a route which looks like: class Filter < R ''/filter'', ''/filter/(.+)'' And I represent the N tags as a string where tags are comma-separated. It works but purty, it isn''t. Suggestions? Or am I bonkers? Thanks. -- Boris -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... If RedHat is satisfied with dnf then they will include it and not yum in RHELN. Maybe they will make yum an alias to dnf, who knows. But whatever they do it's much less likely to be bonkers. > Everyone knows Yum but DNF (something to do wit...

Weird PXE calling convention question
...he far call. >From the code: ; That is all pushed onto the PXE stack. Save the pointer to it ; and switch to an internal stack. mov [InitStack],sp mov [InitStack+2],ss Comment by me: I believe USE_PXE_PROVIDED_STACK is always set??? %if USE_PXE_PROVIDED_STACK ; Apparently some platforms go bonkers if we ; set up our own stack... mov [BaseStack],sp mov [BaseStack+4],ss %endif Basically, what do you mean by bonkers?! :-)! Do calls start to fail like I described or the box just hangs (general fault or something)? Thanks! -aps -- "We've duplicated this [horror] in the Sega Labs be...

SRET consistency between declaration and call site
...ine will discard the arguments rather than making the call unreachable. IMO the same logic applies to ABI attributes like sret. Certainly a mismatch between sret and not-sret from caller to callee could not possibly work on sparc, because sparc's calling convention for struct return is totally bonkers. If you're doing an sret return, you need to return to the call address +12, instead of +8, because the instruction at the usual caller+8 return address is expected to be a trap instruction. Said trap also has the size of the struct encoded in it, and is there in order that it can be inspect...

Best practices in developing package: From a single file
Mehmet, That is a loaded topic, not unlikely other topics preoccupying us these days. There is package.skeleton() in base R as you already mentioned. It drove me bonkers that it creates packages which then fail R CMD check, so I wrote a wrapper package (pkgKitten) with another helper function (kitten()) which calls the base R helper and then cleans up it---but otherwise remains faithful to it. These days pkgKitten defaults to creating per-package top-level help pa...

AGI: How to break out of AGI when stream_file escape_digits are detected in middle of long sequence of files?
..., how do I get that variable? It doesn't become available in python, and trying to get it via either agi.env[result'] agi.get_variable('result') just makes python choke and the AGI quits. That would be fine if it was a result of result being 48! I feel like I'm going slightly bonkers here because it's something so obvious, and yet I've googled so hard over this! Thanks.

Receptionists Phone suggestions? (Not Snom370)
...he Snom 370 can't transfer a call correctly if there's another call coming in (details below if you/re interested). I've verified this problem with Snom who's response is that the receptionist should answer all of the incoming calls before trying to do a transfer - That's just Bonkers! So... any suggestions? Details of Snom 370 problem for the record: Snom370 gets a Call (Call A). Snom370 answers Call A. Call A wants to be transferred to Phone C. Snom370 has another call ringing (Call B). Snom370 presses HOLD button gets Dialtone. Call A is on Hold, Call B still ringing....

virt-manager issues?
Hi, A short while ago I renamed two VMs by shutting them down, lvrenaming the storage devices and adjusting the storage path and vm name using "virsh edit". This works fine so far and "virsh list" shows them correctly however virt-manager has gone bonkers and still shows them with the old names and alternating between the status "Shutoff" and "Running" with every display refresh and CPU usage alternating between 0% and 100%. All other VMs on the host are fine and are displayed correctly by virt-manager. Does anybody know what...

Asterisk Voice Mail Server and older Executone PBX..can it be done?
Does anyone have experience with melding Asterisk with an older Executone PBX? I have a client whose existing voicemail server(repartee) has become bonkers and we need to stick a VM system in there asap. I thought asterisk would be a good thing to use. Does anyone have experience with the older Executone PBX's and asterisk? Any caveats, any tips, any things I should be aware of? Thanks, Brent

Peepcode REST podcast. ..didn't anybody get it ?
And if so, I''m going a bit bonkers here and need to watch it again, but if I remember correctly, scaffold_resource generator was used, but for nested resources the show and index were removed from the controller ? Is this correct as far as what happened in the demonstration and if so is it correct as far as rest goes ? TIA Stuart...

access to files continues after removing user from group
...to create the process > token doesn't dynamically update running process > tokens. > > That just not the way running processes work > I'm afraid. Well I'll be! I verified that this is the case for netatalk as well. I am surprised the security minded haven't gone bonkers over this. I wonder what reason(s) keep them pacified? I still don't understand why removing a user from group does not take effect until a new process starts BUT ADDING a user to the group takes effect immediately. Isn't this inconsistent with the "no dynamic updates to running p...

[LLVMdev] LLVM asserts
...diagnostics for them when they aren't guaranteed to be there at all, and you'll likely be getting things like segfaults instead in a release build? Is your primary goal to be able to present a more consistent and friendly face to the user even when your application goes completely bonkers, does nasty stuff and needs to shut down? Or are you trying to use them as user-level diagnostics and continue on with broader processing? If the former, you should probably be catching things like SIGBUS and SIGSEGV already. Those errors are equivalent in severity to the sorts of things t...

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] [RFC] Parallelization metadata and intrinsics in LLVM (for OpenMP, etc.)
...data to not do illegal code motion if the pass has dropped the metadata? I must be missing something important. The only way I can think that this would work is that the explicit outlining is already done so there is no way to move between parallel/non-parallel without going all interprocedurally bonkers. :) This is the kind of thing that worries me about these proposals. -David

extensions not being detected consistently
...ells me that either it only detects 1 of the 3 digits (usually the second or third one) or, if I dial the extension at a different point in the message, that the first digit was pressed twice e.g. '22' instead of just '2'. The inconsistency of the problem is starting to drive me bonkers as I can't accurately nail down the problem. Ideally I'd like our callees to be able to dial an extension as soon as the call to Background() is hit in the context, from any phone that calls in, not just ip phones. My setup is an installation of asterisk-now (Centos 5 with Asterisk 1.4...

Mac .DS_Stores
...y don't care about, and when you restore something you get thousands of warnings that these files can't be restored. Has anyone out there found a better solution for Mac clients? I guess my concern is if I block the files from being created in the first place the Mac clients will go bonkers because they can't change the view of the directory.
