It's worth noting that the libvirt version included in Ubuntu 16.04 is a bit old (it was released a year and a half ago), however the libvirt-guests script hasn't changed very much in the meantime. --  Andrea Bolognani / Red Hat / Virtualization

Well, I see newer versions of libvirt on Launchpad so I could just add PPA repository and install newer version from there.
