Syntax Question
...")[[14395]][5])=="KGEG" by specifying various station IDs. That is, if I had a simpler structure I could formulate a logical index which would have something along the lines of as.numeric(st[st[1]=="KSEA"][4]) and it would return 47.62139. Somewhere I'm getting all bollixed up with the indexing and keep getting sytax errors. As you can see, the list is quite long (20K+) and I don't wish to have to look up each coordinate by hand. ...nto a good map, to scale, of the hunting ground. Another approach would be to install, say, XP onto a virtual machine, and do the work there. That did work, for a while, after a sufficiently sophisticated technoid friend installed an emulation, or sandbox, or whatever it was. But when I once bollixed up the virtual machine, my cyber-savvy didn't suffice to restore it. And yes, I know there are Linux-native suites nowadays; and Garmin is reported to've put its source code into the public domain. Alas!, those suites all seem to require advanced degrees in CS, cartography, or fields...

Anomaly in Xapian
HI all, I'm just testing out the capabilities of xapian and omega. Environment - Fedora15. Disk to be indexed - 2GB? - FAT16 filesystem. Named "New Volume" When I add a text file to the disk, by right-clicking in Fedora and choosing Create New - > Text File The system creates the text file as expected. I added some content/words, however, xapian-omega will not index it:

TDMxx weirdness with 2-line SBC portable phone
This is a really strange one, IMO. I just bought an SBC 900Mhz two-line portable phone. My intent was to use it with one of my TDM20 lines with asterisk, and have the other line be a PSTN line. But it appears as if for some reason I can't intermingle the two types of lines. If I hook *both* lines from the TDM20 to the unit it works just fine. If I hook *both* of my PSTN lines to the

seamonkey on Centos 2.1 deletes itself!
