Upgrade 3.0.11 to 3.0.12 serious issues
Linux Samba 3.0.12 + acl (ext3)
===============================
When upgrading from 3.0.11 to 3.0.12 ACL's do not seem get used anymore.
We are using the inherit acls options for both maps and files. After the
upgrade users are unable to create new files in directories where they
used to have privileges for. The error returned is: "The file already
exists. Do you want to

Re: Netbios over IPSec
...ted - I have cross subnet browsing working (and thus
wins). And I do have a samba box on both ends. The behaviour I noted
happens irregularly: sometimes I can open a share on the other subnet, but
mostly I cannot not.
I'll still have a look at your suggestions though, it might help.

Solaris ACLs + Linux ACLS - Files Becoming Read Only
...y modifies file A
user x cannot modify file A anymore
Permissions for user X are being set to read-only.
Note: In our case the user (X) is actually able to change the
permissions and to write to the file again.
It would greatly appreciated if someone know a solution to this problem.

howto "upgrade/transfer" samba domain-user + domain-group data to a new windows 2003 active directory domain?
I much regret in many ways having to ask this question below. But our
business needs now demand more than we think we can deliver using open
source software exclusively.
What is the best way to 'suck up' all of the domain group and user
data from a current samba 3.0.21a PDC into a microsoft windows 2003
server?
We have two basic needs that demand we now introduce active directory
servers

cross subnet browsing over IPSec
Hi all!
This is a repost to this list, hoping to draw some extra attention
because I got NO reply whatsoever to the original posting :( I would
really appreciate if someone could comment om which of both strategies
as described below is best.
I am having some trouble with a samba domain distributed over 2 subnets
(192.168.0.0/23 (supernetted) & 192.168.4.0/24). These subnets are

still ACL bug in 3.0.14a
Sparc Solaris / UFS file system. I have some ACL's set up for a handful
of users and its all worked flawlessly with every incarnation of Samba
I've used over the past couple years, which would be most.
Last Friday evening I upgraded from 3.0.11 to 3.0.13 and some of the users
I have some ACL's set up for promptly found Monday that they couldn't save
new Excel files, they'd be
