Any help appreciated Thanks Herry spell loc 101 Parts 1 102 Overall 2 105 Parts 1 106

The most weird thing i've ever seen (networking)
Hi, I've installed a mail server using CentOS 4.4 Now, if i reboot the server remotely by ssh, when it cames up, i have no network. The interface is up and everything looks pretty fine. But i can't even ping other machines in the same intranet. If i reboot it locally at the console, the network cames just fine. Never seen nothing like this. The mind boggles :( Any ideas ? Warm

get mean of several rows
Dear all! After hours of trying around, I gave up: I have a 2-dimensional array, and I know how to split it into its rows and how to get the mean for every row using 'sapply'. But what I want is to calculate the mean over the first n rows, and then the second n rows, etc., so that I get a vector like: v == mean1(row 1:5), mean2(row6:10),... (trivial, you might say. I find it rather

stream sounds like poo for no apparent reason
here at wkdu.org our minds are blown trying to figure out what our problem is, we are using a dell optiplex gx1 with a soundblaster live card. we are getting a nasty hum on the line in. the thing is we plug a cd player directly into the soundcard the hum goes away and when we plug the line in into anything else there is no hum, so the question i ask where is the hum coming from? we are

Xen 3.1 - 32 vs 64 bit hypervisor
I''ve been experimenting with Xen 3.1. My requirements are to run lots 32 bit paravirt domains on large memory hosts (8GB or more). Previously I''ve used a 32 bit Xen with PAE hypervisor which works well. However I seen from the announcement that you can use a 64 bit hypervisor and still run 32 bit PAE domains. I''ve tried this and it works as advertised! What

Darwine or Wine? New to Mac, Install/Uninstall/File issues.
I'm currently running Mac OS X 10.6.4 Snow Leopard. I recently installed Darwine, and then installed a new program, Bowl Bound College Football. Even installed the patch afterwards. So far, so good. Now my problem, is that this program creates an export file to send to a league commissioner, that they can then import. I can't find the file path in Finder, or any of the files for the

Example controller spec no worky?
I''m trying to spec a dead simple "show non-existent record should render 404" case, but it seems the RecordNotFound exception is making it impossible for some reason. #controller def show @event = Event.find(params[:id]) end #spec - pretty much straight from the rspec site before do Event.stub!(:find) get :show, :id => ''broken'' end #

Has anyone successfully used centos 4 as an iscsi CLIENT/w CHAP?
Well, Im using an Adaptec Snap 4500 and I've had nothing but problems with it, initially I thought it was an issue with CHAP authentication so I completely disabled authentication and the kernel is still reporting in dmesg and /var/log/messages that it cannot authenticate with the target /boggle... On a side note, I know the iscsi slice works because I can connect to it just fine on Windows XP

Thank-you to Samba developers
Here's a short quote from a work-related email I sent earlier today, announcing AD authentication from a linux VM. It expresses my awe at the folks who write and maintain Samba, and it's long overdue from me: It?s been 3 or 4 years since I configured Samba; it?s always a challenge for me, mainly due to my poor understanding of MSoft networking. Then when it works, I offer a silent prayer

comment on another command line option
I would like ssh to have the command line option of supplying the passphrase. This would make it possible to do attendant free scp transfers from PHP, for example. As it is, it is impossible to use a web script to initiate an scp xfer if an encrypted private key is used. I realize that stupid people could make shell scripts or web scripts then with the pass phrase in them, but those same stupid

MakeTestFailures
http://wiki.winehq.org/MakeTestFailures I downloaded and compiled from bleding-edge git and ran these last night. I boggled slightly when the unit testing actually crashed X (Kubuntu Hardy, kwin) - is anyone else getting this? I ran the tests again in failsafe (just a naked xterm - or, rather, konsole - and no window manager) and they finished and submitted OK. (Are others running these? By the
