Rsync for Windows on http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php
Hi to all on the Rsync mailing list.
I noticed some posts back on the 25th September about my Rsync page
(http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php). There were questions regarding
it's suitability, why it was there, etc, and how I did not conform to
the GPL.
I have since sought advice from the Rsync administrators, who have
advised me with regards to the GPL, etc.
The page has been updated

argument and it prompted me for a password. I gave the password that is
in the secrets file and it proceeded. I can post the config files if it
would help.
Secrets file is readable only by root
I am on the client, connecting to the rsync server running in --daemon
mode.

Seperate Log Files Per "Account"
...rysnc.log" to no avail.
Perhaps I should create the directory for each corresponding user in
/var/log/rsync and touch the rsync.log within their lof directory ? I
am using the latest rsync on red hat 9.0 boxes. Thank you all in advance
for any input you could give me in this matter.

...make each module log to a different logfile.
If I knew anything about code I would add an option to read a file to
gather the source of the archive like tar -t. Thank you very much for
your help. I will hang around and see if I can help somebody with this
powerfull tool. Thanks again!!!

rsync without a "data pool"
...e cases, huge. Is there a way to make rsync sync up the
changes without actually having the data on the server ?
Thank you very much for any help that you can render from this message.
If there is anything else I could tell you to clear up any uncertainty,
please let me know.
Cheers; C

Question on slave
Hello,
I am switching from djbdns and have a (probably dumb) question before
going live with nsd:
When syncing between master and slaves, am I supposed to see new files
appear in the slave's "zonesdir" directory? Because, as you might
expect, I see nothing here. Is this behavior normal? From what I
understand, the slave "caches" the data in /var/lib/nsd/nsd.db

Question on slave
Hi Jean-Christophe,
Anand's answer is entirely correct.
Once 4.8.0 is released, zone files will be written once per hour by
default.
Best regards,
Jeroen
