.... The only way I have found around most of these issues is to create a data.frame such as: data.frame("Minimum BMD"=c(minimumBMD,minimumBMD.time,paste(100*(1-Climit.level),"%"), minimumBMD.ConfidenceLimit, if(CI.2sided)paste(minimumBMD.ConfidenceLimit.upper),paste(100*alpha.BMR,"%")), row.names=c("Minimum BMD",time.name,"Confidence Level","BMDL (Lower Conf. Limit)", if(CI.2sided)paste("BMDU (Upper Conf. Limit)"),"BMR Level")) However, the output will look like: Minimum.BMD Minim...

Customer questions
A few questions: 1. How does ZFS compare to Luster? 2. Is ZFS compatible with Veritas Netbackup Suite? 3. Does ZFS support bare metal restore (BMR)? Pointers welcome!! Sharing virtualizing physical Server 2008R2 experience on CentOS 7
...doing a fresh/newer Windows setup. Too many articles online saying can't just dd/clone a Windows drives and expect it to run. So opted to go with the "new" Bare Metal Restore functionality added in 2008R2. https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askcore/2011/05/12/bare-metal-restore/ BMR caveats ========== - It can only restore from BIOS to BIOS and UEFI to UEFI (virt-manager in C7 doesn't appear to do UEFI, see below) - It can only restore to a disk of same or larger size. - It doesn't appear to be possible to trick it using a sparse qcow2 disk file to fit it into a smal...

Offsite hosted backup solutions
...scheduled over a 12 hour period in the evening, e. TWO off-site backups via USB 3.0 interface and external drives using rsync (takes roughly 6-9 hours depending on load) f. ProLiant ML310e Gen8 v2, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1220 v3 @ 3.10GHz, 8g ram, SSD / drive 3. YES, I've had to use it for BMR and it does work! a. A BMR over the network is slow but works. Particular machine was a 10/100 client. Been using it for not quite 3 years now after finally giving up on BackupPC. I wrote a simple script to tell me when machines haven't backup in over 5 days so I can go pay attention to the...

Crossed random effects in lme
...h nesting attempt (hack) and respirometer channel (ch) as random factors in a model trying to explain variation in oxygen consumption. From Pinheiro & Bates (2000), I've gathered that this model could be fit making use of pdBlocked and pdIdent, so I've tried fitting the below model: m1.bmr<-with(bmred.df,lme(mlmin~treat*year+massout,random=pdBlocked(list(pdIdent(~hack-1),pdIdent(~ch-1))) )) However, my model fails with the following error message: Error in getGroups.data.frame(dataMix, groups) : Invalid formula for groups I would much appreciate any input on this! Kind rega...

Help with lme and correlated residuals
Dear R - Users I have some problems fitting a linear mixed effects model using the lme function (nlme library). A sample data is as shown at the bottom of this mail. I fit my linear mixed model using the following R code: bmr <-lme (outcome~ -1 + as.factor(endpoint)+ as.factor(endpoint):trt, data=datt, random=~-1 + as.factor(endpoint) + as.factor(endpoint):trt|as.factor(Trial), correlation = corSymm(form=~subject|as.factor(endpoint)), weights=varIdent (form=~subject|endpoint)) With this cod...

Backup Solutions based on Linux
I'm having particular issues running Veritas in my Windows environment. The agent just seems to baulk on some servers. I've looked into backup solutions running on Linux before but there doesn't seem to be much. Is anyone familiar with something that has Windows agents and yet managed by Linux? <<JAV>> -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

How to Backup and Restore MBR within Logical Volumes?
Hi All, I have several Xen virtual machines within logical volumes using LVM2. I did not use disk images for performance reasons. Conventionally, if I want to clone my virtual machines, I have to dd the LV to an image file. But this consumes a lot of time and harddisk space. So, instead of doing that, I want to use losetup and kpartx with my logical volumes, which contain operating systems of
