problems with bitmap images in windows XP
...quot;) plot(1:10, 1:10, col="red") dev.off() ------- jpeg("test.jpeg", bg="green") plot(1:10, 1:10, col="red") dev.off() --- jpeg("test.jpeg", bg="white") plot(1:10, 1:10, col="red") dev.off() Now, all of this gives a bluish background when wieved with Windows Picture and Fax wiever or with the GIMP-2.0 The bg= argument does not seem to have any effect. Now repeating in rw191: jpeg("test.jpeg", bg="orangered") plot(1:10, 1:10, col="blue") dev.off() and the background is blue (not the...

CentOS7 KDE - post-boot splash screen
...stall C7 KDE on a workstation for a friend of mine. Works great, but the post-boot KDE splash screen (light blue and has 3 or more up ^ arrows that move from the lower center upwards) is a bit of a frustration for that person. I've determined that one can press the Escape key and move from that bluish splash to the login screen. (And at one point rolling the wheel on the mouse worked too, but didn't consistently cause the transition from splash to login screen.) At this point I think it's more ideal to just disable the splash screen and instead have the system go straight to the login s...

control for frame color in cloud()
I am trying to construct a cloud plot viewable in 3D with the classic 3D glasses (one red lens, one bluish lens). I've figured out how to overlay two printings of cloud() (from the lattice package) with appropriate colors, however the box frame seems to only print in black. Is there any way to control the color for the frame? How about the background color (gray)? See http://www.crustose.net/~n...

dual heads, Radeon
...se the gnome applet - the same thing, btw, with system-config-display - tell it to use dual head, and spanning desktops. Exit X. Restart, and the second monitor goes into powersave mode. Try to exit X, either via logout, or <ctrl><alt><bkspace>, and it goes, and comes back with a bluish screen... and that's all she wrote. It's hung so hard I can't log in via ssh, and have to power cycle it. Any clues? mark

gradient generation
...maller pieces of a gradient based on a range of numbers. Say that I have a range of numbers, leading from 0 to 1. Then I want 0 to refer to the brightest red, and 1 to the brightest blue, and all values in between refer to shades of purple. (So, 0.5 would be regular purple, 0.7 would be a quite bluish purple, etc.) Then, I want to be able pick out a gradient from the larger 0-1 gradient, say for instance the gradient between 0.25 and 0.35 and refer to this with an object name for further use. I'm not sure whether this is possible - maybe it would only be possible to define a range of in...

Game- Fishdom H20 video problem
...west driver from ppa. The problem-- the game loads and plays with no problem, but its nature is to find objects which then allows you to place animated objects on the screen-"fill up the aquarium". ===== These objects should be in a variety of colors, but under wine they only show up as bluish/grey. They do move about as they should. ===== I have tried various wine configurations, and it has always been the same result. Currently, I have wine configured with dotnet 20, ie6, & directx (dll's only) from winetricks. I have tried with full directx install as well. This configuratio...
