Bluescreen with Latest GPLPV on Windows Server 2008 R2 on XEN3.4.1
Hi all, my system is a XEN3.4.1 Dom0 Host System with a HVM Windows 2008 R2 machine. After installation of the GPLPV driver ("gplpv_fre_wnet_AMD64_0.10.0.130.msi"), and an Reboot the Windows Server 2008 R2 comes up and ends in a bluescreen, and immediately restarts. Testsigning is ON. What else can be done, or better what needs to be checked? Is there somebody who is facing the same problem? I would highly appreciate any help. Many Thanks. Cheers, Maik _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users...

W2k3 HVM domain QEMU drivers
So I successfully installed the GPLPV drivers in a Windows installation I have running under Xen. Turns out SP2 is needed - I wish this was slightly better documented somewhere, as the machine ended up bluescreening and I had to use /NOGPLPV to get it to boot again so I could upgrade it to SP2. My question is this: I ended up using ''disable'' in device manager for the rtl8139 and the old IDE driver as for some reason Windows still seems to be detecting that the devices are around. Windows...

ATI/AMDs atikmpag.sys BSOD while vga passthrough
Hi everyone since I''m currently migrating from xm to xl and now are also a victim of the said error, I started researching on it and found that many people had the issue but not many found solution and behind this BSOD (=Bluescreen of Death), there are actually multiple errors in hiding. What I would like to do is gather as much info as possible in this thread to form a kind of comprehensive guide to fixing this issue. From what i gathered so far, there are at least 3 different problems with the same symptopms. 1) Situatio...

Hi Everyone, I am trying my hands on xen under Solaris SXCE build 113. The machine has the following configuration: 2 Quad Core Xeon CPUs 16 GB RAM Solaris SXCE b113 4 disks - 2 mirrors x 2 stripes under ZFS The problem is that xen HVM is very slow. Unable to remove GPLPV drivers without breaking win2k3 domU
...it tries and fails to use the Xen network driver, and so the machine is network-less, so for the past few months I''ve left it using pure HVM instead of PV drivers. Now I''d like to try the 0.9.11-pre4 drivers attempt 1 - installed new drivers over the top of the old ones, got bluescreen at next boot. attempt 2 - restored disk and used the un-install.bat from the old version, still bluescreen at next boot. attempt 3 - manually uninstalled all xen devices from within device manager, deleted all relevant .inf/.pnf/.sys files, it still bluescreens, I think it''s a STOP 0x...

%U doesn't replaced in smb.conf
...t able to correct or even understand the problem. Can anyone help? I have another crazy bug-or-something! With the first server and the samba 2.2.6 we created (in the company I work) some folders with pretty long names (and even accented ones :) With the new server ALL (!) of the Win98SEs die with bluescreen or reset the PC if some of these directories are opened. What should I check? What logging paramteres should I make a log for someone, who can help? The problem is the length of the names for sure (max length around 80 chars), because if I rename the long ones to 3 chars I can enter the directory,...

PCI Passthrough, Radeon 7950 and Windows 7 64-bit
...y Signed Uninvention GPLPV drivers 0.11.0.356 (in use for disk and networking) I've heard others managed to get this setup running without issues. What I've been able to get is the passthrough to work exactly once per start of the HVM. Second start of the HVM Windows 7 64-bit results in a bluescreen mentioning a page fault. I've also attempted to force a PCI bus reset on the card via sysfs and also a forced detach and rescan - trying to passthrough the card afterwards results in a hard hang. Same result if xen-pciback is set with passthrough=1. I haven't found a way to force a power...

Also the Samba 4.2.1 PDC was a fresh installation with empty databases. Sadly the latest official Insider Preview build 10074 doesn't install in KVM (bluescreen after setup start) and Windows Update hangs in an update-and-restore-endless-loop here in 9926, I can't try it with a newer version at the moment.
