Ruby/Rails facts?
...-lang irc?
<duracell8> 1. Limited Pool of developers who know Ruby. Get developers
to nominate if Ruby will be their secondary language.
<duracell8> 2. The serving of Ruby Apps from Apache using FastCGI is
broken the world over. It causes periodic process and database connection
blowouts. Move to a Mongrel Pack.
<duracell8> 3. Limited IDE support for Ruby. IntelliJ Plugin? Eclipse
Plugin?
<duracell8> 4. Page Caching approach is inconsistent between Press Room

Backup scripts - recycling old backup directories (Kevin Korb)
...is a table of the average times (seconds) over 5 runs of each test.
Real User Sys (User+Sys)
test 1 2.454s 0.150s 2.196s 2.346s
test 2 0.392s 0.100s 0.572s 0.672s
ratio 6.3 1.5 3.8 3.5
(The User+Sys time is pretty much invariant, even though in earlier tests
the real time suffered major blowouts owing to contention.)
So, the big difference is that in test 1, the 11111 sub-directories and
10000 files were created in the destination d3, and then the same
numbers were deleted from the old directory d1. In test 2, rsync does
none of that, but only has to check for differences. ~40,000 meta...

Oh please. It was all in light of people being anal.
Therefore?
I highly suggest that people refrain from being anal on the list. People can also go to the archives to see that top or bottom posting?nobody cares.

This is valid as also that somebody cares is valid.
Please use your energy (to all subscribers) to answer unanswered
questions on the list instead using impolitement as a pressure blowout.
The transition to additional services like forums, feeds and other 3rd
party exchange portals, the live for a mailing list gets harder. It
would be great to make this here as pleasant as possible.

ices 0.3 on FreeBSD
I have successfully compiled Ices 0.3 on FreeBSD (4.7 and 4.9).
You need to make sure that ALL the dependicies are installed (some depend on
others) and when compiling them, that they compile with no problems.
<p>Include some output of what errors you are getting and I #should# be able to
help you on your way.
