Errors when installing StarOffice on build 20010510

Installing bloatware from Sun is not going to help you debug install problems with bloatware from Microsoft. It would make more sense to compare with MS Access or Excel of the same vintage. arnim

You should also have learned in programming the lines of code is a virtually useless measuring stick. OMG, the kernel has over four million lines of code! BREAK IT UP! There is always a trade-off between modularity and functionality. Sometimes modularity comes with...

'Many' packages installed - CentOS 4.1
...then build as i suit. I went through the list of things to install and removed everything apart from networking. Install happenned and tons of stull ended up being installed including X openoffice and the like - Why was that when i de-selected everything apart from networking? It was very much bloatware and not what i want on a server. thanks for any hints

So, looking to dump Zoiper and go with something else - I want something light-weigh (So that rules out Ekiga - and Zoiper was going down the bloatware route anyway), I don't like x-lite, what else is there? Thanks, Gordon

Why should the systemd monolithic bloatware be shoved into the kernel, especially when you claim the kernel has "over four million lines of code!" ? Seems like a tactical diversion to deflect genuine concerns about the vast plethora of alleged systemd advantages. When something new is proposed and it is substantially and conspicu...

The sad state of samba 4 adaption for home/small business routers.
Hi, i would like to inspire a discussion on why samba4 has nearly no adaption on home/small business routers firmware. I recently switched from my old Asus-N16 running tomato to a WRT-1200AC and was researching potential firmware's that i could run. We have a new synology disk-station at work that runs Samba 4.x and it works great. So i was surprised to notice that 3 years after the 4.0

...Is systemd the beneficial, reliable, useful and workable "improved init system" or something with circa 275,000 lines of coding compared to init's circa 10,000 lines ? Things I have learned in programming include modular is better than monolithic, and less code better than M$-style bloatware which systemd appears to be. Just what is Fedora's and Red Hat's Plan B when the revolt against systemd escalates ? Whom is going to apologise for fouling-up Red Hat's EL and our beloved Centos ? -- Regards, Paul. England, EU. Hands-on: HP Mini 110
...i 1000, which lasted only 2 hours, 47 minutes on a charge. (Travelers' advisory: Consider popping an extra 40 bones for the BX06 Mini Battery to pick up a little extra on-the-go gusto.) I also appreciate the Mini 110's software selection, which is slightly more robust than the usual feeble bloatware. For instance, Syncables allows you to sync five PCs on a network. We'll have more to report on the software bundle when our full review of the Mini 110 goes live. Otherwise, this looks like a slightly thicker, economy-class version of last year's model. The 110 measures 10.3 by 6.6 by 1.2...
