[RFC PATCH 0/2] use larger max_request_size for virtio_blk
Hi, For virtio block device, actually there is no a hard limit for max request size, and virtio_blk driver set -1 to blk_queue_max_hw_sectors(q, -1U);. But it doesn't work, because there is a default upper limitation BLK_DEF_MAX_SECTORS (1280 sectors). So this series want to add a new helper blk_queue_max_hw_sectors_no_limit to set a proper max reqeust size. Weiping Zhang (2): blk-setting:

[PATCH v2 00/12] gendisk: Generate uevent after attribute available
The race condition is noticed between disk_add() and disk attributes, on virtio-blk hotplug. Userspace listens to the KOBJ_ADD uevent generated in add_disk(). At that point we haven't created the serial attribute file, therefore depending on how fast udev reacts, the /dev/disk/by-id/ entry doesn't always get created. As pointed out by Christoph Hellwig in the specific fix [1], virtio-blk

[PATCH V4 0/3] Improve virtio-blk performance
Hi, Jens & Rusty This version is rebased against linux-next which resolves the conflict with Paolo Bonzini's 'virtio-blk: allow toggling host cache between writeback and writethrough' patch. Patch 1/3 and 2/3 applies on linus's master as well. Since Rusty will pick up patch 3/3 so the changes to block core (adding blk_bio_map_sg()) will have a user. Jens, could you please
