Purpose of qualify=yes
...a NAT situation, qualifications can help keep UDP sessions open in the firewall but in our case most phones are not behind NAT. I realize qualifying phones is also how asterisk keeps track of who is available for things like BLF but surely it doesn't need to do that every 2 seconds to keep the BLFs reasonably current. So I guess my question is what is the real purpose of the qualify setting in a non-NAT situation and can one safely set the qualification as something higher. I'd think something like 15 seconds would be more than enough for BLFs and the like. Chris

lib/util.c:smb_panic yp_get_default_domain Samba 3.0.2a
Samba Folks: I'm having what seems like a relatively benign issue with Samba 3.0.2a. I'm running SuSE 9.0 (with all updates) on an Athlon XP, 512MB RAM, RieserFS on SATA hard drives. Linux kernel version 2.4.21-202-athlon (from SuSE). I can repeatedly and predictably get the following error in the log.smbd file when connecting via Mac OS X. (smb://serverIP/) I get the same error

GS/* phonebook + Web-BLF
Hello, I updated my AJAX GS/* phonebook. It now actually has Asterisk integration with incoming call-notification, a searchable call history and clickable BLFs. The BLFs can monitor specific extensions (SIP/phone - may work with other channels than SIP if the AMI generates the appropriate events), Asterisk hints or connectivity to external SIP-servers. Features * Clickable BLFs (Dial, pickup, steal) * Support for different GS phone accounts...

Receptionists Phone suggestions? (Not Snom370)
Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent receptionists phone? Aastra? Grandstream? Something with (potentially) lots of BLFs, large(ish) screen, headset and most importantly the ability to transfer calls? I've installed five Snom 370s that seemed ideal but my client is very very unhappy as the Snom 370 can't transfer a call correctly if there's another call coming in (details below if you/re interested). I&...

Loss of devices registration (pjsip)
Many desk phones support multiple simultaneous SIP registrations. You could use BLF buttons for each SIP registration and the operator uses the LEDs as their queue as to which account is ringing. Alternatively the phone's UI may be able to indicate which account is ringing without the need for BLFs. Another option is to re-write the CALLERID(num) or CALLERID(name) to indicate the inbound line (eg prepend a string or number). Hopefully that gives you some food for thought :) Pete > On 22/03/2016, at 8:49 am, somsad khan <ctrlz.network at gmail.com> wrote: > <snip> > I...

test_metaflac fails in make check for flac 1.1.2 after --add-padding is performed
...'make check' passed. I commented out this portion of the test script and got a failure in the next line. I also tried adding --dont-use-padding (since that was reported to be a previous workaround), but it still failed. My linux distribution is a linuxfromscratch 6.1.1 I built flac using blfs 6.1 directions: LIBS=-lm ./configure --prefix=/usr && make Only thing interesting in the make output was the warnings about inlining failures, in bitbuffer.c and md5.c ~/sources/flac-1.1.2$ gcc -v Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gn/3.4.3 Configured with: ../gcc-3.4.3/configu...

Hints and realtime
...t possible to use hints from a realtime source like a db or curl ? I was looking at the grandstream GXP2000 Expansion Module (EXT) which has 56 fully programmable keys that work with BLF. You can daisy-chain 2 of these together to get 112 keys, plus the 18 on the 2010 phone to give 130 potential blfs. What I was wanting to do was to use the BLF as a type of agent monitor as well - when the agent logs in, they go green (from blank), and when they log out for them to go blank. I would assume that I can do this by adding / removing the hints from extensions.conf, and was wondering if it were...

Controlling BLF Leds ...
Is there a way to set/clear a BLF LED on a phone from the dialplan? I want to use one as an indicator of some state in the PBX - in this case it's "night mode" but I can think of other applications. I have BLFs working just fine for "normal" stuff, just wonderin if I can use them for more! Cheers, Gordon

Broadsoft-like BLF List URI ?
Hello, I've seen several references in IP phones manuals to Broadsoft's BLF-List URI feature (also referred to as List-Oriented BLF). With this mechanism, a server is able to update the BLFs an IP Phone is supervising without asking the IP phone to reboot, as for a reason I don't know, most phones send BLF-related SUBSCRIBEs during boot time. Is this feature compatible with Asterisk design ? Is there a way to update BLFs without rebooting ? (I could successfully update BLF but I c...

Asterisk, bicolor BLF and DEVSTATE
Hi, 1. You can now find several SIP harphones with bicolor BLFs (see Polycom, Cisco, ...). Is there a protocol which best describes how to use this bicolor BLD feature ? 2. I would like to map these BLFs to the following user activities : - user is logged off: no light - user is logged in: green light - phone is ringing: blinking light - user is on call...

BLF call pickup on Linksys SPA932
...s fine, but call pickup using the BLF is something of an issue. Following the advice on voip-info.org, I configured part of their dialplan as follows: exten => _**2XX,1,Pickup(SIP/${EXTEN:2}) exten => _**2XX,n,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN:2},15,tw) exten => _**2XX,n,Voicemail(${EXTEN:2}@dkm,su) The BLFs are all registered in the form: exten => **201,hint,SIP/201 etc. The theory being that pressing the BLF for 201, for example, will try and pick up any ringing call on SIP/201, then, if that fails (i.e. there's no call to pick up), the extension will then be dialled as normal. Problem is, P...
