OS/390 openssh
Hello Steve, Hello OpenSSH-portable developers,
I am building OpenSSH for our (EBCDIC-based) BS2000 mainframe
operating system, and I noticed you do the same for OS/390.
Because my initial ssh port was based on IBM's OSS port (ssh-1.2.2
or some such), I thought it was fair enough to help with a little
co-operation; we might come up with a unified EBCDIC patch which could
be contributed to

Patch to support Powercool PCRACK-1200VA
Hi Folks,
This is my first post on nut-upsdev.
I would like to share a small patch to enable support for the Powercool
PCRACK 1200VA ups.
I found that the UPS uses megatec/krauler protocol but is sensitive to
the USB buffer length passed to it in requests via usb_get_string(), and
usb_get_string_simple().
If the buflen is greater than 102 then the ups will reply to requests
but does not

[PATCH] Fix CNG when effEBands is less than nbEBands.
We were trying to normalize bands that didn't actually exist (e.g.,
the last band with 320-sample frames at 32kHz).
Thanks to John Ridges for the report.

ssh-agent and ssh2 servers...
I'm not on the mailing list, so I'd appreciate it if you could cc: me,
though I will keep an eye on the archives.
I am running openssh 2.2.0p1 on Debian GNU/Linux. I was pleased to
see that 2.2.0p1 had support for DSA keys in the agent, and I have
successfully used the v2 protocol to another openssh server with the
agent providing authentication.
I am also able to successfully connect

[PATCH] Add read support for "big data" blocks to hivex
Large values are split into multiple blocks. References to these
sub-blocks are kept in a list whose structure seems to be identical to
a value list.
A "db" record contains information on the number of sub-blocks and a
pointer to the list. It is referenced by the vk record.
I came across this when comparing the contents of HKLM\SOFTWARE hives
from Windows7 systems and finding that

Powercool PCRACK-1200VA patch update
Sorry about the noise guys.
Below a significantly improved patch.
The main difference is that all calls to usb_get_string_.. have been
wrapped in a new function nut_usb_get_string() that is implemented in
libusb.c
This was necessary in order to make the bufflen_fix available in
libusb.c where usb_get_string() is called in libusb_open()
This wrapper function mops up and hides all the work

Latest rZync release: 0.06
For the small number of people who are checking this out, I released
version 0.05 a couple days ago (and only mentioned it on my new-protocol
web page) followed today by 0.06. Some highlights of the two releases:
- We handle symlinks now in our recursive synchronization mode.
- Directory scanning is no longer limited to one active directory at a
time (which was sorely needed when all the

Server accepts key: pkalg rsa-sha2-512 vs ssh-rsa
Hi,
I'm doing some test with a pkcs11 token that can only sign short messages.
When connecting to one server, that reports pkalg rsa-sha2-512 blen
151, it fails to sign the pubkey because it is 83 bytes long. (sshd:
OpenSSH_7.3p1)
A older server that reports pkalg ssh-rsa blen 151, works perfectly as
the pubkey signature required is only 35 bytes long. (sshd:
OpenSSH_6.7p1)
I am not sure

ssh-agent and id_dsa
Hi!
I am distributing 2.5.1p1 for production use on my system by now and prepare
switching to protocol 2 as default protocol.
I just noted, that ssh-agent can be used for protocol 1 and 2, but the
keys kept in ssh-agent are not compared against keys in .ssh.
Example: I have a DSA key in id_dsa which I load into ssh-agent on login.
When connecting to an account accepting the key everything is

Bug in KRL signature verification
I believe there has been a bug in KRL signature verification that has been
present since the KRL feature was first introduced. It prevents signed KRLs
from being loaded by OpenSSH [0]. I believe this bug applies to all
versions of OpenSSH, although the majority of my effort has been devoted to
(and all of my code snippets come from) openssl-portable.
The bug is that an offset is incorrectly

sftp fails when run from cron
sftp OpenSSH_7.6p1, OpenSSL 1.1.0h-fips 27 Mar 2018

I created bash script to download database files once a week. It uses
sftp as the agent. The script runs correctly when started from a command
line. It fails when run from cron.
Authentication with the remote server is set to use a private/public
key and does not require an explicit password.

sftp authentication failure only as cronjob
Hi all,
I have a problem using sftp which I cannot get solved even after
searching all over the web, so maybe one of you has a useful hint:
I want to run a simple script that puts a file on a server using sftp.
Keys are setup correctly, everything works fine if I run the script from
within a terminal. When I run the same script from the crontab (my
personal crontab as user) the script runs fine
