Winsock problem: wine client error:0x86f30f0: pipe: Too many open files
I'm still battling with the bleedin' C4D Net client, which fails to do
some of the network stuff that it's designed to do. Now I do get an
error: If I leave the client open overnight, it eventually loses to
connection to the server and the terminal window from where I started
the client says:

Digium IP Phones D40
Hi All;
Any one used Digium IP Phones D40?
I need to know if they are stable with good voice quality? Comparing to Polycom 330, which is better? Let us talk frankly although I know that we have to support Digium.

FARFON lives!
Some of you have been following our progress on
http://farfon.convergence.com.pk as we blundered our way through the
development of a low-cost ethernet IP phone that does IAX and augments the
client options currently available for the kick-assterisk server.
With help from the denizens of #asterisk and kind words of advice from Mr.
Spencer and the rest of the gang ... we're proud to have

Multiple servers for one index
Hi,
I''m currently trying to set up a solution involving multiple servers
using the same index over nfs.
The problem is that from what I have seen, ferret doesn''t support
multiple processes writing to the same index.
Using a DRb service is not an option since this would create a single
point of failure.
I tried using Ferret::Store::FSDirectory to create a write lock on the

Some basic questions about getting the best performance for database usage
I''m new so opensolaris and very new to ZFS. In the past we have always used linux for our database backends.
So now we are looking for a new database server to give us a big performance boost, and also the possibility for scalability.
Our current database consists mainly of a huge table containing about 230 million records and a few (relatively) smaller tables (something like 13 million

USB boot problems on Gigabyte GA-M55Plus-S3G
I have successfully created bootable USB flash drives containing the
following bootable products:
1) Clonezilla (recent version)
2) Ultimate Boot CD (recent version)
3) OpenELEC (recent version)
All of these apparently use SYSLINUX as part of the boot process.
All three boot up just fine and with no problems at all on virtually all
of the various systems that I have here at my

...pting to be clever. I'm just doing exactly the
same things that everybody else... the great unwashed masses... are doing
with these tools.... just ploping them onto USB sticks and NOT customizing
them at all. And as I say, they all work great *except* whn I'm trying
to boot them from this bleedin' *&%$%$#@ Gigabyte motherboard.
