tryCatch question
...statements in the catch block and then error or not always do the staements in the finally block. In 'R' as best as I can tell the block of staements in the try block is a single function. Does this mean I need to construct a temporary function that contains what I would have put in the try blck? Also in 'R' it seems the 'finally' function (of 'tryCatch' most closely mimics the catch block of 'C'. Right? A similar comment on the finally function. Do I need to create a temporary function that contains the staements that I normally would put in a 'C' l...

Does Berkeley DB and Rails seem like a good match?
...mer from
squirrely database coding which is great. My only problem is that
you''re still left with a large component, namely the databsase server
(MySQL, PostgreSQL..etc) which is treated like a black box...these
databases are hugely complex and maybe shouldn''t be treated like blck
boxes, maybe a small light-weight database, essentially a giant hashing
table (i.e. Berkeley DB) would result in lower complexity and better
performance?
what does everyone think? I''m happy to be shot out of the water by
those with more experience than me :)

how xen recognizes fibre channel based storage resources
Hello
I''m a newbie here so please don''t laugh at me...
I plan to setup several (4) physical servers to run xen virtualized
OS-es (in example web servers). What I need is that those virtualized
OS-es must have simultaneous access to disk storage physically created
on FC array.
I read that this could be done by OCFS or Lustre file system but my
question is: how virtualized
