Do you think it would look cleaner?
I was looking over some of my specs. I was thinking that the following: @game.should_receive(:name).and_return(''The Battle for Blaze'') @game.should_receive(:people).and_return(5000000) @game.should_receive(:activated).and_return(true) Would it look cleaner if I could do this instead? @game.should_recieve_and_return( :name => ''The Battle for Blaze'' :people => 5000000 :activated => true)...

dovecot.org slow & imap search now blazing fast
Hi. In case you were not aware, I wanted to let you know that dovecot.org has been very slow (often almost unusable) for at least several days now. Also, I upgraded my dovecot from 2.2.10 to 2.2.15. Thank you for fixing IMAP search. I have c. 2mm messages, and it had become unusable before but it is now very fast. (I saw a reference to an optimisation on the mailing list from back in Oct

Installation question?
I've been doing a CentOS 7.6.1810 net-install since last night. The machine seems ok but has been stuck with "performing post-installation setup tasks" for hours. This is an old Dell T5400 box, so it isn't blazing fast but ... Is there a way to pull up its skirt (so to speak) and check/monitor the installation activity while installing it? Having already started the

ESEARCH multiple folders
FTS-Solr is blazingly fast; yet searching e.g. an archive with subfolders still is slow; I learned, that this is a feature/bug of the imap protocol. So I'd like to ask: Does or will dovecot support the "IMAP4 Multimailbox SEARCH Extension" specified in RFC 7377? -- Kind regards Peter

New game "Das schwarze Auge: Drakensang"
Hello Wine Users, I am thinking about buying the game "Das schwarze Auge: Drakensang" (German homepage (http://www.dsa-game.de/), English homepage (http://www.drakensang.info/)). But I will only do it if I am able to play it under Linux. Does someone have the game already and tried to get it running with Wine? Regards, Benjamin

Rails is slow on Apache !!!
Hi , I have rails running on my development machine. I have installed mod_ruby and set up the httpd.conf file to add handlers for .rb files. But the speed I get is still slow compared to webrick which is blazingly fast. I have 2 questions 1. How do I determine if mod_ruby is loaded and is being used to run my ruby scripts ? 2. Which of these fcgi /mod_ruby is faster ? Thanks vivek --------------

Anyone running a business hosting plan @ textdrive?
I currently run a handfull of sites on a MediaTemple VPS - which is blazing fast and very cheap for what I get. BUT installing rails and mysql v4 was a major pain in my ass, along with other things. I''m considering switching to a Textdrive business hosting plan but wanted to get some feedback from list members first. I pay about $200 a month quarterly for my MediaTemple service.

Building a Back Blaze style POD
...y don't have a lot of money to throw at the initial concept, but I have some. This device will host all of the operations for the first few months until I can afford to build a duplicate device. I already had a few parts of the idea done and ready to get live. I am contemplating building a BackBlaze Style POD. The goal of the device is to start acting as a place to have the crawls store information, massage it, get it into db's and then notify the user the task is done so they can start looking at the results. For reference here are a few links: http://blog.backblaze.com/2009/09/01/petab...

Simple example of decoding streaming audio realtime?
...my original comment, being uncomfortable with C, really applies to more than just C. I'm uncomfortable with everything that goes along with C... the configure scripts, the make files, the dependency resolution. What I'm really looking for is somebody who has taken the battle scars and trail-blazed a path into XCode/CocoaTouch. At any rate I appreciate your help. Thanks again. 2.2.1a / 2.2.2 bug is back in 2.2.8
Hello, Back when 2.2.2 was the current samba release I came across the following problem when deleting folders in Windows 2000 which I'll repost again below. After I finally got his attention with a few very wordy messages to the samba mailing list, Jeremy fixed it blazingly fast and wrote me back: "I just found the problem and fixed it in 2.2 CVS and HEAD CVS. It was to do with the

Anyone booting CentOS 5.5 KVM host from flash?
I am investigating building a live CD image to be used as KVM host and then putting that image on a USB key (to end up with a environment similar to ESXi). I see tools in in Fedora for both tasks, but I have not seen them in CentOS. Before I blaze a path, I was wondering if anyone has done this before.. Thanks for any feedback, David
