dxdiag - exits without success
Hi there. I'm trying to turn on DirectX in Wine. (please read whole message, and only after that blamming me). Recently, I've used Gentoo and it's Wine. But after that, I switched to Fedora and start using Fedora's Wine. Some programs load successfully, but not DirectX. As I said before, everything was normal in Gentoo, but not in Fedora. (for both I have amd64 (x86_64) arch). I've in...

virt-manager
so... I've been tinkering with KVM again. my desktop is windows, the linux server is remote, so I have a ssh X tunnel running, and XMing running locally, and launch virt-manager. opens fine, shows the VM I created some time ago. I select that VM (which is running centos 6), and 'open', a window opens for a few seconds, then blam, virt-manager exits before I can click on

"Sequence does not exist" for joined model
Hello all, I''m in my 5th month on Ruby on Rails and still learning. I have an application that works fine in sqlite3 and then the boss says he wants it migrated to Oracle. Now, I know very little about Oracle, enough to get into trouble. When I did the migration everything went haywire. Well, I''ve refactored several problems and now I have another. I have two models with a

Suse 9.3 boot problem
Hi there I got Suse 9.3 on a raid 1 (md0 :boot and root and md1 home) When I try to get the xen kernel booted, the process goes up to a certain point and then reboots I got two problems: 1) Since I used default suse parameters I would assume all my settings should be OK, so why does it not boot? 2) When booting and getting to the reboot point, it holds the messages only for one second. How can

virt-manager
Try giving the VM a Spice display, instead of VNC, see if that helps. Also, on Windows try Mobaxterm SSH client, it comes with X server built-in, perhaps it behaves less crappy. automatic callback when busy
I'm trying to set up the following application: When a SIP extensions calls another one which is busy, the caller would be able to ask for an automatic callback: when the callee becomes available again, asterisk would ring both the caller's and the callee's phones and connect them when both parties answer. Has anybody done this before? (I tried to search the archs but couldn't

Assertion failure in do_get_write_access() at fs/jbd/transaction.c:746
I guess this could be filed under the 'shot myself in the foot' section, but I figured I'd report it anyways.. Kernel 2.5.50-bk6, x86, preempt, PIIX IDE, ext3 fs. I dd'ed the first part of a ext3 partition to tmp, then mounted it via loopback. (the image passed a fsck, except for warning about corrupt part. table or superblock) I tried to 'cd' into a directory within
