We are running HPUX 11 samba 2.0.6 and whenever we have to add a new user (once or twice a month) we have to add them to the Windows domain, the Unix passwd file and then set them up in Samba for a password. is there a simpler way? ...to remain the master? I have added "remote announce = YOUR.IP.SUBNETS.255/WORKGROUP" but I just had a rouge machine that wasn't even turned on take over from the SAMBA server as master. I'm using the O'Reilly's Using Samba book to try and get Samba to send UNIX (OPENSERVER 5) data to a printer connected to a Windows XP machine and having some trouble. I've edited the /etc/printcap and /var/spool files as stated in the book but I can't seem to get my UNIX system to see that the printer is there. Do I add the printer somewhere other that the GUI install area
