yum cannot find bittorent rpm at dag
I am trying to get the x86_64 isos of CentOS-5.2. I wish to use bittorrent. The last time that I did this I required the bittorent package from Dag's repository. I have configured /etc/yum.repos.d/DagWieers.repo thus: [dag] name=Dag Wieers RPM Repository for Red Hat Enterprise Linux #Also see URL http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/ baseurl=http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el$releasever/en/$basearch/dag gpgcheck=1 # This repo oft...

Created a DVD from Gnome Desktop -CentOS-5.3
...CentOS-5.4 onto a DVD. I have an LG multi-writer installed. I have used this device on this host to created CDs in the past but this is my first attempt at creating a dvd. When I put a blank DVD-R media in the drive then I see a desktop icon for "CD-ROM Disc" created. When I open the bittorent folder and click on the iso image "CentOS-5.4-x86_64-bin-DVD.iso" then I am prompted to open the image with "CD/DVD Creator". When I do this then I get a new window opened with the image file in the lower portion and an entry at the top labelled: CD/DVS Creator Folder and a bu...

minimize download bandwidth techniques
I know of a few techniques for minimizing server bandwidth when bittorent is not an option. 1) If you have the beta isos, you can rename them as centos 5 isos and then rsync from a mirror that allows rsync (such as kernel.org). Then only changes from beta to centos 5 plus some overhead is downloaded. I suppose you could use this technique with bittorrent too. 2) Inst...

Resilver/scrub times?
Hi all! I''ve decided to take the "big jump" and build a ZFS home filer (although it might also do "other work" like caching DNS, mail, usenet, bittorent and so forth). YAY! I wonder if anyone can shed some light on how long a pool scrub would take on a fairly decent rig. These are the specs as-ordered: Asus P5Q-EM mainboard Core2 Quad 2.83 GHZ 8GB DDR2/80 OS: 2 x SSD''s in RAID 0 (brand/size not decided on yet, but they will definitely be...

limit number of connections per ip

RV: LATENCY PROBLEMS
Hello there, I''m having lots of problems with my setup here. Let me explain: I am network administrator for my university dorm. We are about 300 users, and we have 2 ADSL connections doing load balancing with 300kbits upstream and 2Mbit downstream. The load balancing is working great, we are doing connection tracking so I can mark and hence prioritize interactive traffic and ACKS
