A new bitorrent record?
...4.2 machine and the decision was made to just do a fresh install
and restore a backup from last night. The only problem was that she had
forgotten the 4.2 DVD in the office, a 2 hour drive back and forth. So
I suggested she fire up her notebook which has a DVD burner and download
the DVD via bitorrent instead. So she plugged her notebook in to a free
port on our core switch and had the entire DVD downloaded in under 20
minutes. Yow!!!
So I thought I'd offer a big thanks to those of you who keep the ISO
available for download.
Cheers,

Serverworks HT1000 chipset drivers (Supermicro H8SSL motherboard)
...000 (Broadcom 5785) chipset. My
CentOS 4.2 DVD doesn't want to recognize the chipset so I can't see any
of the SATA drives in the integrated SATA ports. Drives on 3Ware cards
work as expected, but I was hoping to also make use of the integrated
SATA ports. I'm downloading 4.3 via bitorrent now, but I suspect that
isn't going to solve the problem without some command line magic.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

I''m wondering - how is my machine behind the firewall able to upload, since
no port forwarding related to bittorrent is taking place? (Just to clarify -
it IS uploading)

CentOS 5 and bittorrent
Folks. This is likely to be the hardest hit CentOS has ever taken with
regards to bandwidth needs.
I was really hesitant to use bittorrent for this type of thing for a
long time. However, it really is nice to give back at least what you
take. At the moment, I'm seeing almost 3000 connections to the torrent.
That times 3.5 gigs is a pretty huge chunk of data... and it has just begun.

Jigdoes of CentOS 4.4 and 5.0 i386/x86_64 CD/DVD available.
I've gone through the trouble (after some 10 rounds I finally have
something I'm happy with) and generated jigdo/template files for
CentOS 5.0 iso's (CD/DVD i386/x86_64) (and CentOS 4.4 while I was at it:
CD/DVD/ServerCD SRPMS/i386/x86_64).
(and I started on this before the thread about creating the DVD's from the
CD's started ;-) )
