jail + postgresql + System V IPC
...offering freebsd jails, and they have a list regarding downsides of running
jail (such as you can't use ICMP, shared hardware etc etc). In this list
they also includes that you can't run postgresql. This just makes me wonder
even more if this cocktail is a good idea :)

escape character
...the same as when ftp transfer a file from Windows to the Unix in
binary mode. When transferring files in Ascii mode there is no problem.
The Unix server is running a ISO8859-1 charset.
Can any tell me if there is a setting in SWAT I can set to prevent this
escape character?

USB2.0/Firewire Enclosure
I (work :) bought a USB2.0/Firewire enclosure and I had a little trouble with
it until I came across this page
http://people.freebsd.org/~maho/USB/comment/ku350a.txt after trying the
sysctl things work well.
I haven't tried the USB2.0 side of it, as I don't have any USB2.0 controllers.
The Firewire bit works great too (quite a bit faster than USB1 :)
